Avatar Archie’s Erudite Observations on Autonomous Existence
Avies! -Its 2:30 AM
Do You Know Where
I don’t call it role-playing, -being in There... but one has to admit to a certain degree of separate causality in controlling the actions of an avatar in a virtual world. I would venture to say that There is about as good as it gets. One really has a virtual life to lead when in There. And– that life is precious. The friends and “family” one has may be closer than many in “Real Life” -still– there is a certain “role” albeit wide ranging in possibility. No, we don’t have to earn battle points, and we don’t even have to do anything at all. Not doing anything at all in There? Will human nature allow static behavior? Hardly. Even getting in trouble at least is ‘doing’ something! lol And let me tell you, the human that controls Archie is living vicariously ...big time! I love roaming and
exploring. I see lots of avies, and I meet lots of avies. I see an
interesting landform and will
Wow! The new lands with a giant snowcapped mountain and stunning views that shares the area with a seriously large landmass, resplendent with lakes hills, and valleys. I’m sure it won’t be long before the vegetation takes hold and then residents begin to appear in homes of various styles and shapes. More! (Thanks to Mr. Rush for showing me around) Another HUGE land mass called “New Kansas”. Also surrounded by sizable islands that fade off in the distance, also green and lush and loaded with a cheering, warm Thereian sunlight. New Kansas is a less mountainous region and some areas might start to seem downright “flat”, great for growing wheat, just like in RL Kansas. Perhaps, this is to be the rural area of There, the breadbasket, -perhaps someday we’ll see redesigned hoverbikes to look like farm combines...lol! In its second day of existence I ran into two great "old" Thereian friends of mine on “Comet Island”, [avies] Sweet Tee and James Franks and they happily agreed to let me take their picture with Mt. Neverest in the background. “One for the ‘family’ photo album” I said with a “rofl”. And, Thank You, Tee for the lesson -that wheat and not corn is the main crop in Kansas! lol ...So, will we get a “New Iowa” someday, so we can have corn too? Well I’m off to the Hot-Dog Stand!
