Massive is certainly
the correct adjective for the
Massive
Hoverboat
Floatilla, held Saturday Evening.
After we landed, I spoke to Xeryus, leader of The_Yacht_Club about the
floatilla and at the time he had no idea how many had participated but
indicated that the number of people entering the club
house for the event was upwards of 200.
The
huge number of boaters was quite evident at the starting pad and the
blockheads were in force, but as soon as we lifted off and got airborne we
settled into a relatively smooth ride through the islands. I had the
pleasure of riding with captain
kc_jonesy and company for the one hour
trip.
The
route began at Burojo and wound southwest past the western shores of Motu
Motu, past the eastern coast of Cangrejo, weaving through the Tiki
Islands and ending up at the landing point in Nada. Along the way there were
two weigh points where others were picked up to join the convoy.

The floatillas are
not regularly scheduled events but when held, are always on Saturday
evenings, starting at 7pm pst. According to Xeryus
the next one will probably be held towards the end of September.
