There Obituaries Who’s Who?

Well, not really! (out of respect to the dearly departed folks behind their monitors, lol), but perhaps the survivors are more important here, anyway... How many have seen some tough times and decided to “bail”? How many have experienced the growing pains and made it through to see the Thereian sun shine once again? We survivors may perhaps be, the “shocked troops of psychedelic reality” (Terrance McKenna) living in this utopian world.

A certain level of denial is required to simply "be There" and just have some pleasant fun, -some philosophical discussions, -a drink with a friend, -an adventure. How much work you do is a choice. Now I’m not sure who said this one, [was it Confucius?] “True rest is in one’s accomplishments”, so if it's building a “space-paz”, or an ornate ‘house-beautiful’ , hoverboating from pole to pole, or whatever it is, it’s ALL good. Winding up in the obits? ...well, too bad, I hope your next life gives you what you’re seeking.

Total Denial?

Sometimes a little denial goes a long way. Now being in There...’hmm... isn’t that fairly involved in a certain level of DOR (Denial of Reality) right off the bat? Sure, your avie has certain inalienable rights such as the Thereian Constitution i.e.; Terms of Service. But beyond that immediate realm of a false sense of safety and security, there is still the “In World Experience”(IWE). You better believe it that certain There designers examined, tested, poked and prodded the system, in and out of beta, to see if the IWE was “quality” in its delivery, and if the objective or “mission” was obtained. We avies on the other hand just get to blow around like grown-up children living vicariously by our whims and wishes– if we so choose. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with that in the least! Life is stressful, hopefully There won’t be as harsh as RL!

There Sensualists

There is a really beautiful place– there is no denying that! Sometimes I hear an avie complain that it’s boring...I don’t buy it. Boredom is self -created by much deeper forms of denial. Walk up to a group chat in Karuna Plaza and just say “hey” or “s’up” or something. Everyone is on the same turf, posturing, preconception or prejudice are not valid or fair, and if you run into these, just leave and try some other chatters. It took me some nerve the first few times, but I have made countless friends just by not having fear of chat! Oh! we were talking about boredom! (...well, a little self challenge, and we almost forgot about it...hmm?) So is a beautiful virtual world with never-ending creative conditions boring. Well, if it’s boring, then that could mean another avie to wind up in the “Obits”.

I say enjoy There for what it is, play on! Ride hard, help some newbies, throw an event once in a while, go to some classes in There. The true sensual beauty of There is profound, but of course the real attraction is in those “gem” friends you’ll find when you go on your larger adventure of life's great mystery.
