ELIMI-RACING
by Snow_Costello

Elimi-Racing like TABR has become a
popular buggy racing event! Every Saturday the Pit Crew: Achmed, Additice,
Jmann, MoonlightSea, NiteSpirit, SazzyPants, TOmmyStone and Trent comes
together and throws one awesome event. Elimi-Racing usually takes about
eight hours to complete. This is how it works:
Qualifying:
The only race that is actually
rated is the final race which consists of four racers.
There are four different qualifying times throughout the day. 1st is 1-2pm
EST 2nd is 1:30-2:30 PM EST, 3rd is 3-4pm EST and last is 4:30-5:30 EST.
After each qualifying race there is a 30 minute break. If you have qualifed
in any round you are not allowed to post a time again at the next event.
The top eight people that have the fastest lap on the board at the end of
each event qualify to move on to the round. For those who do not quality at
their
first attempt may come back to the
next qualifying race to try again.
Elimination:
Invitations for the Elimi-Racing
event will be sent out at the end of each qualifying session to the racers
who have qualified. All racers must check in by 7pm EST they will be
removed from the event. (There are no exceptions on this.)
Racers will be placed into heats of four
racers according to when and where they placed in the qualifying heats. In
the event that qualified racers DO NOT actually show up for the actual
Elimi-racing event, heats may contain less then four racers. If there are
three racers in a heat the race will continue as normal with two people
moving on to the next round. If there are two racers both racers will move
on but will still have a race to determine starting positions. If there is
one racer the racer will automatically advance without having to race that
round. 1st and 2nd place winners of each heat will continue to the next
elimination round.
Example of Starting Positions: Example:
Johnny qualified 1st in the 1:00 session. Susie qualified 1st in the 3:00
session. Johnny would start the 1st heat in the 1st position. Susie would
start the 1st heat in the 2nd position. Races will be restarted if there is
a problem at or before the 1st gate, or if the Pit Crew deems it
necessary.
Breakdown of Possible Rounds: Following is
a general breakdown of possible rounds in an Elimi-Racing Event with 32
qualifying Racers:
Elimination Round 1 (32 Racers)- 8 Heat
Races Containing 4 Racers (16 Racers will advance).
Elimination Round 2 (16 Racers)- 4
Heat Races Containing 4 Racers
(8 Racers will advance)
Semi-Finals (8 Racers)- 2 Heat
Races Containing 4 Racers
(4 Racers will advance)
Finals (4 Racers)- 1 Final Race

This gives a maximum possibility
of 15 Races
The Rules:

Code of Conduct:
Absolutely no unsportsmanlike
behavior. We are here to have FUN! Leave any grudges you have with anyone
at the gate.
No childish antics will be tolerated (such as screaming in voice, name
calling,
harassment, everyone in this event (Pit Crew, Racers and Spectators) should
be treated with respect.
Rules:
Only Racers will be allowed in the Zone during the actual Elimi-Race Event.
Spectators will have a viewing area outside the Zone. Look for a link
outside the gate to the viewing area. No paint guns, boats, boards, packs or
TUV's in zone at anytime. No intentional ramming, going through a gate
backwards, cutting across track path, or passing on bank turns allowed at
any time. If you encounter a problem, IM a Pit Crew member. Do not post it
in the Zone IM. Only the racers may IM the Pit Crew (not club captains,
etc. as this is an individual event). Do not take out a buggy until a Pit
Crew member instructs you to do so. (Except during qualifying sessions)
During Check-In, Racers will be added to a Racers IM. Racers will be called
to the Zone in this IM. Racers will not be sent additional invites to come
to the Zone. Once you have been eliminated, you must exit the Racer IM.
Please read the instructions for information on when you will be called to
the Zone. If you are called to the course to race, you have five minutes to
be in your buggy and ready to race. First offense, you will be moved to the
end of that elimination round. Second offense, you will be removed from the
event. Pit Crew has final say in all disputes. Do not qualify if you are not
planning to attend the actual races. Repeated abuse of this rule will
result in removal from future Elimi-Racing Events.
