Is Falling, The Sky Is Falling… by isalyna
Something very cool happens every
month … high in the sky. Have you ever 8:30pm CST: As I arrive at the Deep Space 999999 Community, once again, an excitement fills the air. This isn’t just an ordinary visit, to explore the amazing decks and towers of this lofty paz community. This was going to be quite the adventure…. To drop by boat… all the way to the ground. What? That’s a LONG way down! Is it Safe? Many other avatars are arriving, every second to enjoy this Re-entry into There world atmosphere. The Lag begins to thicken. My friends and I find each other in amidst the crowd. Our trusty driver is Galahad, a resident of this high above place. Traveling with us will be Vortexqueen, also of 999999, and my neighbours, Goldielocks, Taelos, from Wonderland Community. Conversations are going on all around us, so many, you can’t tell who is talking sometimes. Someone asks how this is going to work; Others are asking what is going on with all these avies up here: VortexQueen: They
have to put all the boats on the platform then when everyone is here they
gonna pull the paz We make our way to the upper deck in order to drop the boat. The lag makes walking fun, but we all arrive on a vast deck covered in a multitude of colorful boats. Avies are scrambling to find a boat to climb onto before the deck disappears. Galahad has taken out his boat already. Galahad:

After we have all settled ourselves in our comfy saddles, we sit and wait and watch as more avies arrive more boats are opened. Conversations are going on all around us, and with us. Quite the place to meet new friends, and see old friends whom we haven’t seen for a while. Finally I hear VortexQueen say the words we have been waiting to hear!! VortexQueen
I have just been told it will
happen in one minute There is another wave of excitement as all avies on deck grip their seat handles tighter, in anticipation of dropping thousands of metres to the There earth below! Suddenly it HAPPENS! The Deck is GONE! OH, HOW COOL! Boats are dropping and falling all around us! Avies screaming in delight, or is it fear!? Taelos
woot We are dropping so fast ! The sky is beautiful ! Stars ALL around! Solar systems! Everyone starts snapping pictures! VortexQueen begins the altitude countdown:

13000 As we fell the last few meters, a sudden silence seemed to overtake everything, there was no talking, just complete silence, except for the humming of the boat. And then…. We were on the ground! Cruising at breakneck speed across the hard There Water toward Compass Island! I could not remember the landing. Perhaps I passed out! But now, we were safe! What a rush! We drove to the center of the compass, where we landed and met several other boats. In all the excitement, as we flew off on the final leg to land in the center of a volcano on the island of Motu Motu, I noticed we were missing a passenger!! goldielocks
Galahad you left tae! We race to the finish! And land safely on The Yacht Club deck in the center of the volcano! What an AWESOME trip! This Flotilla is definitely gonna need to do THIS again!! Woot! looked up to see a large brigade of hoverboats flying over? Well, now,
beware….they are not just flying over! They are FALLING! There is a club
called The Yacht Club, founded by Xeryus, and every last Saturday of the
month, he leads off a Flotilla of boats. It is difficult to know exactly
HOW many boats fly each time, but there has been as many as at least 90
boats at a time! It all started back in July 2003, when Xeryus had his first
Flotilla on his birthday, and just a few days later, on the encouragement of
others who had joined him, he formed The Yacht Club! Hoverboat owners and
other enthusiasts are encouraged to join in order to have hoverboat
activities together. Since then, he has organized more than 15 Flotillas.
The following is an account of my most recent experience on the flotilla….
The Re-Entry !
I
find myself having trouble walking up the ramp I say to myself as I struggle
through the lag, just a BIT more…almost there…’click’ I jump on the boat.
PHEW, Made it! 
changes to blue, we have Re-entered! The view from here is spectacular!
More clicking of pictures!! The conversation around the boat is very
little, we are all in such awe! We spot our goal of Compass Island! The
ground is racing toward us!
