Giggles Update

I had the opportunity to sit and chat with OracleofDelphi or better known to some as the “Giggles” guy.  He is a delightful and funny guy and I was pleased to be able to talk to the person who made this program.  For the few of you who do not know what Giggles is, it is a macro program made for There.  Now all those fancy dances you see are no longer just for the few, even a novice can work this program easily.  In addition, Giggles also takes screenshots with the tap of a button.  I personally find it to be an awesome program.   My personal experience with the assorted macro programs made me feel like an emote failure.  This simple, easy to use program is perfect for someone like me who does not feel like spending hours to make up a 30 second dance sequence.  One of the unique features of Giggles and the Giggle website is the ability to be able to share “giggle” files with other people.  To date over 200 users have submitted their own giggle files and are available on the web site.

OracleofDelphi did let me know that there are some new things coming to his program soon and shared those with me.  The big one for me was the change in format of photos from being bitmap files to jpeg files.  Now its an easy upload to my website for all those great screenshots.  Below is a list of other changes for the new release.  OracleofDelphi  also alluded to some additional “new” things he has in the works after this release, but is keeping that to  himself for the moment.  After seeing what is about to be released, I am very curious as to what will be next.  Stay tuned for those updates.  For now….here are some of the changes to be released next.  Enjoy!

Working on at the Moment ~ To be released soon :

1. Minor bug fixes and performance enhancements.
2. Giggles will only communicate with There - no other programs.
3. Print Screen Button - Screen Shots are now taken of the THERE window only (or any active window) i.e. not the complete desktop area. This is good for users who are running There in window mode.
4. Pressing the control key and ` (ctrl+`) will also take a pictures. Why? So you can hide the toolbar. Thus, PRINT SCREEN button for pictures if you are already in action mode (toolbar is not visible) or ctrl + ` if you are not in action mode to hide the toolbar.
5. Added a groovy photo sound so you know when a picture is taken. I don't know why but this silly sound makes taking picture more fun!

6. Screen shots are now saved in 85% compressions quality Jpeg format. This makes your screen shots web ready and the images much smaller! Example: When running there in 800 X 600 mode your screen shots were 3MB BMP files. Future screen shots will be under 100KB and in web ready jpeg format!
