MISSION SLIGHTLY DIFFICULT

by Geea

Last night I was on the set of Mission Slightly Difficult for a small part I was cast in, I'm going to be a reporter go figure.  While there I thought about the interview I did with Rick_Slick in early August and decided to rerun it in case anyone missed it.  This There film is one your not going to want to miss.  I was impressed by the professionalism of Disky, Francis_7 and Rick and look forward to seeing the film when it's out.  So for a little background here is the interview I did with Rick.

Move over Hollywood, There has its own movie industry.  I recently had the pleasure of meeting Rick_Slick, There movie star and screen writer.  Rick gives us a peek into his movie career and his upcoming movie Mission Slightly Difficult.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck wrote and stared in Good Will Hunting, well There has its own upcoming super star and maybe a There Oscar is in his future. Rick_Slick is  a man of many talents, designer, actor, and now screen play writer.  I had the pleasure of meeting him to discuss his There movie career and his upcoming project.   Rick’s rise to stardom started with Killboat and expanded to acting and some writing in Broc Lee.  He is now working on his own screen play for a There film titled Mission Slightly Difficult which will be produced and directed by Miracle Pictures.   I quickly found that Rick has a great sense of humor.  I will definitely be adding this interview to my top ten favorites.

Geea  How did you start your There movie career?

Rick_Slick  I had just joined There in like September '03 and I can't remember what I was thinking, but I had heard about the casting call for this Killboat movie, and I thought it would be fun to act in a There movie since I've always dreamed of being an actor in real life but I'm too chicken.

Geea   Did you write for killboat also?

Rick_Slick  I just acted, they really didn't have a script... just a basic outline... and I made up a lot of my own lines on the spot and they used them.  Sometimes they'd start filming and I'd embellish on what I was supposed to say, or I'd just say something off the wall and Francis_7 would be like "Wait, say that again, that was good!" and he probably wasted a lot of tape because everyone would bust out laughing because I never warned them on what I was going to say.

Geea  What part did you play in Killboat?

Rick_Slick  I played the part of "Rick_Slick" in Killboat, lol

Geea           lol, doh

Rick_Slick  I was the guy who kept saying "I saw this in an episode of (insert 80's action series here) once!"

Geea  After Killboat was Broc Lee your next project?

Rick_Slick  Yes, Francis_7 said they were making a sci-fi movie next, and since I love to write I told him that I would help write the screenplay if they wanted. And he gave me what they had and I added a bunch of funny dialogue and jokes into it. Like the scene where they're filming the prison area and the camera pans across all the prisoners... I thought it would be funny to have like prisoners from different sci-fi worlds (star trek, star wars, etc) as the prisoners, like a sight gag.

Geea   Was that the first screenplay you worked on?

Rick_Slick  Yes, that was my first experience helping to write a screenplay.  Disky is working on a Superhero Documentary project... she asked me to write something for her, so I wrote a bit on "Captain AFK" for them to use.  I don't want to say too much about the Superhero project... I don't know what Disky all wants released.

Geea Did you base your character in Broc lee off of Dr. Evil?

Rick_Slick  It's funny you mention that, because I played Dr. Evil in FatHamburger's Austin Powers movie... my first instinct was to use the Dr. Evil voice for Emperor Dum... but it was getting old.

Geea I do have to ask you one question about Broc Lee

Rick_Slick  sure

Geea  The line where you say go to your room and put your freakin clothes on was that just ad-libbed or written into the script?  love that line

Rick_Slick  It was ad-libbed... you'll notice in the movie after I said that, you hear everyone bust up laughing

Geea  That was my favorite line :)

Rick_Slick  One of those lines I think up and don't warn anyone I’m gonna say them.  Another ad-lib was at the end "My butt is too huge a target, let's get out of here!"

Geea  Yes,  I remember that one. :) lol

Geea  Tell me about Mission Slightly Difficult are you writing the whole screen play or working with Virtual Vicki on it?

Rick_Slick  I'm writing the entire screenplay this time.  I was leaving There, and talking to Francis_7, it was during the Broc Lee premiere party... he told me that they would produce/film anything I wrote if I ever chose to come back. So I took them up on it.  I always wanted to do more of an action/James Bond type movie but I decided on a Mission Impossible theme.

Geea  How long will the film be and when is the expected release date

Rick_Slick  Right now my estimate is 40-45 minutes.   I'm about 70% done with the screenplay, then MP will do a casting call and get talent for the uncasted roles and we'll have to build the sets and get all the props together.  One interesting thing that I haven't announced yet is that I'm working with Grimm of Cartel Kustoms for him to design a "Mission Slightly Difficult" hoverbike that will be featured in the film.  After we're done, I think he may release it as a limited edition.

Geea  What can you tell me about the film is it more like the current Mission Impossible with Tom Cruise or like the old tv series

Rick_Slick  It's going to be more like the movies with Tom Cruise... I have a large collection of theme music to use for the soundtrack and some stunts and basically I don't remember the series all that well :)  We will have the part in the beginning where Francis_7 gets his mission and then the message self-destructs... I think that is an important gimmick from the series.  Except in this case, he gets his mission from reading a Fun Book

Geea  Will you also be staring in it?

Rick_Slick  Yes, I'll have a main role, because I'm conceited.

Geea  lol, ok, aren't we all :)

Rick_Slick  lol

Geea  I don't want you to give away to much but is there anything else you can tell me about Mission

Rick_Slick  Well the basic premise is that we find out that Professor Linden of Linden Labs is trying to kill off everyone in There so we all have to create accounts in his "Second Life" project, and we have to stop him.

Geea  lol that is great!

Rick_Slick  Yeah, I hope we don't get sued for all our Therebucks

Rick_Slick   I'd really like to raise the bar on There movies with this one. With "The Creature" and soon "Austin Powers" coming out, I see the There movie industry becoming a big game of one-upmanship... which is great for everyone... the viewers get better movies, and the moviemakers are consistently challenged to outdo each other.

Geea  Is there anything you would like to add?

Rick_Slick  I appreciate Virtual_Vikki, Francis_7, Disky, and the rest of the team at MP for giving me the opportunities that they have... they're great to work with and I love helping them out.  And if there's one thing I would ask of There Inc. to change about There to aid in making movies... please, please, PLEASE give us an option to turn off the possibility of being sucked into a chat group, lol
