The
M.A.R.T. System
By NigelBlackthorne

You’ve probably seen their rather
impressive kiosks. Maybe you’ve even clicked on one. The M.A.R.T. System
(Merchant Accessible Rapid Transit System) is a system that links portazones
together on a common
web
page for ease of transport between them. Started as a way of making
merchant owned portazones more accessible to potential customers, it’s
recently expanded and now lists other pazzes of interest. Each of the pazzes
that are part of the system has the familiar M.A.R.T. System kiosk located
in the paz. The recently opened Wonderland Mall is now part of the M.A.R.T.
System and can be accessed through the system. There are over 30 other
sites that can be reached by using the system.
According to M.A.R.T. System
creator, aztec3, “bedicus
created a market village for us in the oasis...links to the merchant
auctions actually, so I
took
the two parts and created a third…a link to merchant pazs as well as their
online auctions and websites. One plus one equals three in this case. Since
there is no central district for merchant and designers, the mart system
allows the formation of an ad hoc network of pazs. Users don't have to use a
teleport link, they can just access the web page and teleport thru it's
links...and as members come and go and pazs are added (and hopefully not
deleted) the system grows step by step...but,
there
is still a need for a presence in high traffic areas since lots of folks are
not aware of the system unless they come.”
Those
that have the bedicus compass can also gain access to the M.A.R.T.
System Gateway site by opening up the compass, clicking on extras, turning
the listener on and typing in /mart. You can also find the M.A.R.T
merchants on another web site
here.
