JOURNEY BACK TO KARUNA

By Geea

I was teleporting around Wednesday night and decided to go over to Karuna Plaza.  I never really understood the attraction to this place.  As a newbie I went there a couple of times but preferred to stay clear of it. While at Karuna the memories all came flooding back and I remembered exactly why it was never added to my favorites list.  For me it was mostly the questions and the chit chat.  If you’re into that and like to meet new people Karuna Plaza is by far the place to be.  I decided to write about my journey back to Karuna and take note of what was being said to me and around me.

Some phrases I came across while at Karuna:

Where are you from?

How old are you?

Are you married?

What do you do for a living?

Are you as hot as your avie? (Well of course.  Aren’t we all?)

Avie #1:  I love your hair where did you get it?
Avie #2:  From that vending machine over there.
(Wouldn't you love to say that in real life?)

Yes I’m really a vampire and we drink blood we don’t suck blood.  (I thought this tidbit was extremely informative.  I will make a mental note of that)

And my favorite by far - I like my women like I like my coffee, ground up and in my freezer.  (That stops a girl in her tracks every time)

And the commonly used phrase “Give me money I’m new.”

While at Karuna I saw many orange shirts and many veterans, some I haven’t seen since beta.   Karuna seems to be the meeting ground of There.  A place to drop an activity flag and chit chat with friends or make new friends.  I particularly like to watch the newbies and found that many use the ROFL quite frequently.  I decided to watch this one particular newbie who struck up a conversation with a group of avatars.  Within the span of one minute (yes I timed her) she used ROFL 16 times. I found that to be fascinating.   I did notice a few newbies with mismatch skin tone shirts.  So if you thought the new skin tone problem was bad, seeing a vanilla skin tone shirt with a caramel look set won't make you feel quite as self-conscience.  But we have all been through that our first week in There.

Karuna Plaza is still the social gathering place it always was. If you like to meet new people, help newbies or avatar watch, drop by Karuna Plaza it is truly an experience.
