CCR Running With The BuggyBulls

 By Geea

If you’re looking for something fun to do I strongly suggest you sign up for the next CCR running with the BuggyBulls event.   Adapted after the real life event The Running of The Bulls in Pampolona Spain, where people run down cobblestone stone streets while fighter bulls chase them.  In the CCR’s version you’re running down a beach with a buggy coming up fast behind you.  You can be a runner or a bull. I wanted to be a bull because anyone who knows me knows how I hate getting ran over, shot by a paintball or falling from space, but that's a whole other article.   I was lucky enough to hitch a ride with Emma Jean.  She was so kind to be the driver so I can take pictures.   When I first got there and read the directions I thought to myself I will never be able to find Steadman on my own, I teleport everywhere.  But Dutchess and Emma thought of everything.  The route is easy it runs along the beach from Bananaphone (Nara) to Steadman.  Check points which are very easy to find, so no worries for those of you who are teleport challenged like myself.  If you choose to be a buggybull please note, do not run over the runners while they are at the check points.   It’s great fun whether you’re a bull or a runner.  Super Bunnies and Nikes are allowed, but no force fields please.  Below is a copy of the Rules and Information.  Special thanks to EmmaJean and Dutchess for creating a truly fun event.

Running Of The Buggies 2005

RULES AND INFORMATION

Welcome to our first Running Of The Buggies, based on The Running Of The Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. These runs will take place during the week of July 7th through July 14th. Times will vary to give more members a chance to join the fun. You may compete during every event.

You have the option of traveling on foot or driving a buggy. We believe you will want to do both! A map of the course is included at the Start. The course is the same for both Runners and Drivers. When you finish the course, be sure to check-in with one of your hosts to receive credit for completing your task.

RUNNERS:
Your goal is to run from Bananaphone to Steadman on foot. You will need to stop at, and click, the various checkpoints along your way. There is no competition for fastest time. You simply have to complete the run. The rules for your journey include:
- No Forcefields
- No Teleporting
- Nikes and Super Bunnies are allowed

DRIVERS:
Your goal is to drive between Bananaphone and Steadman. You will also need to stop at, and click, the various checkpoints along the way. You are the "BuggyBulls". This means you get to run into the Runners and other BuggyBulls, just like in the Running of the Bulls. Again, there is no competition for fastest time. You simply need to complete the course. Your rules for the journey include:
- No Teleporting
- Regular Buggies Only (No TUVs, bikes, boards, boats or packs)
- No targeting or harassing specific runners to repeatedly hit
- No aiming for others intentionally while they are standing at a checkpoint
- Feel free to hit, tease and circle the runners to make their trip difficult, but do not make it impossible for them to complete. Consider it similar to "herding" the runners to the finish.

Again, there is no contest for fastest time, so have fun with actually completing the course. If you are unable to complete the course, you can try again on another day! The progress will be reset at the end of each event, so you will have to start at Bananaphone again.

PRIZES:
- Runners and Drivers who complete the course will receive an official Running Of The Buggies 2005 T-Shirt. (One TShirt per person)
- Runners and Drivers who complete the course will also receive an entry into a random drawing for either a Monster TUV or Groovy Bug.
