Colorful Hippy Beach!

You can’t keep a hippy Therian down. We have seen the various alternative communities sprout up in There, from a trailer trash village on Tyr, Hemp Beach on Caldera, and now on Cangrejo, a new venue for hippies to stretch their psychedelic wings…welcome to Hippy Beach! 

Therians have a bent for virtual alternative lifestyles. To think - how many of us sit in front of a sterile, clean, straight edge computer workstation while living vicariously through our wildcat hippy avatar personas! Of course for some, the reverse may be true…lol!  

 

A few years ago, renowned philosopher Terrance McKenna (R.I.P.) explained that the meaning of the word “psychedelic”, is really a description of the state of  “heightened communication”. Dr. McKenna detailed how we make a noise in the throat and shape it with the mouth, and are able to read far beyond the crude sounds, into all kinds of meaning of the intentions of another human being. When one is in a state of heightened awareness, the normal communications become deeper and very much more powerful. 

Why? 

Could be that there is “psychedelic” events, moments and things in the world, shows us our human spirit reaching for something more, our seeking for a deeper connection to the universe, ourselves, and each-other. So maybe another hippy-haven isn’t really so bad. Perhaps our “misguided hippy intentions” contain an aspect of forward hope, rather than merely escapism, a drug induced haze, and isolation…just maybe…lol! 

So come on over to Cangrejo Island, just a few minutes north of the Library and Media Complex. Check out the groovy PAZ at Hippy Beach. I’m sure you’ll find the spirit of creativity alive and well here.
