I’ve been sworn to secrecy but now I’m allowed to let the old cat out of the bag.  Barring any problems, today’s data push will bring you a couple of real treats!  

What painters and builders alike have been asking for, the Eight Seater!

Eight Seater Builder and Painter Templates 

The painter templates for the eight seater will include:  

The Tiki Set                           The Retro Set               The Modern Set

 

For Builders

Builders will now be able to build an eight seater.  The seating nodes will each be treated like a chair and will be labeled for your convenience.  Example: seat 1, seat 2, seat 3, etc. There will be no love seats i.e. kissing on these sets.  This is also the case with the painter templates.  According to Sonblock, this was necessary in order to release these templates. 

Also included in today’s release of the painter and builder templates for the eight seater, there will be a download for the new version of Previewer for painters and builders and new furniture and builder kits.  All these can be downloaded from the Developer Site. http://developer.prod.there.com/developer/downloads.cgi  

Some cool features of the eight seater are that you can place two eight seaters together or an eight seater and some chairs and the chat bubbles will be visible on the added seating.   Chat bubbles will only be visible with added 8 seaters, chairs or five seaters.  Couches will still show dimmed chat bubbles when combined with the new eight seaters.

Sonblock has created a new dance floor.  One style will be released in auctions today by There_Developer.  Sometime today you can stop by the Staff pazes on New Kansas and try one out for yourself.

In addition to being able to purchase a dance floor, the dance floor will also be included in the templates for painters and builders to download and create their own and yes you will be able to create animated dance floors.  So in the weeks to come we should see some interesting dance floors out in auctions.   

How does the dance floor work? 

It sits like a deck, except there are nodes which you can click on to take your dance place 1&2 , 3&4, 5&6, 7&8.  Once you have clicked the node, a menu will pop up on the bottom of your screen for dance moves. The dance emotes are displayed similar to the way emotes are displayed when you are in chat groups or seated.  Now you just click on the dance move you want to use, twist, hey hey, handstand, etc. 

Sonblock has been working hard to get these out and is excited about the dance floor and wanted it to be a special surprise for everyone.  Kudos to Sonny – you rock! 

I’m sure that once the templates and new Previewer is ready for download, painters and builders alike will be hard at work.  We should expect to see new items in auctions by next week.  To ensure these new items are working correctly a limited amount will be pushed the first week or so to make sure everything is working correctly.
