TABR AWARDS By ZachC
Last Friday night TABR held its end of the season awards celebration at the Seattle frontier zone. Xtreme Radio was there broadcasting live from the event and I had the honor of presenting the awards. TABR, There Association of Buggy Racing, is one of the largest, if not the largest regularly scheduled event host groups in There averaging over 30 people per event every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday counting racers and spectators. As the event began, Seattle filled with some of the top racers in There and their supporters. One of those supporters was amxscott. Long known for his buggy collection, support of the arts and economy as well as his membership on the MAB, few are aware of his behind the scenes support for TABR. He has been there for the organization since its founding with financial support, and at one time served on the TABR board. On this night, to acknowledge his continuous support, he was honored with the TABR Special Recognition Trophy.
The rest of the evening was about the racers. TABR is divided into 3 divisions. The Sports Division is for racers with ratings under 1350, Semi-Pro for those between 1351 and 1550, and Pro for those over 1550. Ability can also be taken into consideration at the discretion of the board. The prizes for the championship are: Sport Division – 1st 9,000 t and the first place trophy – iota 2nd 7,000 t – Zip 3rd 5,000 t – sazzypants 4th 3000 t – neverenough

The other teams put up a great competition. The teams add another aspect to the races and add to the racing experience. TABR racing wouldn’t be what it is without them, and they are all appreciated.
