A Brave New There

There is evolving. New ways of seeing ourselves in There, new designs, new attitudes about how we partake in There. Like a massive experiment, the experience and understanding of what this is. Our community deepens.   

We are an eclectic community. We casually deal with this grand, mutually agreed upon illusion. To some it is more serious than for others. Some avies even think another world exists outside of There, where creatures called “humans” sit and control everything from computers! lol! 

Society in There. Although some avatar members approach There with various socio/religious standards, tolerance for the ways and lifestyles of a wide variety of members, is very necessary in There, just as in RL. It seems to me that a majority of Therians are very accepting and have a well balanced self-view, so as to not stand in judgment of others. We very often strive only to improve our world and ourselves. We understand that everyone is on this same road in some way or another. There continues to grow and develop into the very special place that it is. So how cool is that? 

Like our human counterparts, we avies admittedly have our sensitive sides, of course. We become attached to people, places, scenes, and various lifestyles. When change is thrust upon us, we definitely feel it. Sometimes avies get their hearts broken, or may be hurt emotionally. On the other hand, we can also get very excited, inspired and feel very significant emotional “highs”. 

Life is filled with mysteries. Between the parallels of real life, and the uniqueness of this “humanistic” virtual world, we learn about ourselves in ways never before known. There , on the surface is “fun”, but There also goes deep. Our avatars are free of physical reality, no hunger, pain, or “life/energy” score levels as in games, other than running low on paintballs or money. From what I have seen in There, however, it is the friendships and loves, that at the end of the day, have the most meaning for us, just like in real life!
