The Opposite Side of There

By Archie

For several days now, I have been driving around our Therian Globe to see just how it is over there. Since I’m following a course due east from the main islands, I’m driving around the equator, and yes, at sea level, it is a constant 86 degrees. The weather has been perfect for this trip, no storms, no lag, blue skies all the way, but wait…something is quite strange on the opposite side of There.

It’s been a quiet time for philosophical thought. Just the sound of the engine of my “Baron” monster truck, and some occasional tire squeaks. Time spent putting deep Therian thought into the Buzz Forums ‘n stuff. It REALLY does take a long time to go around this planet, and I shouldn’t complain, as there have been some who have flown around There in hoverboats. The monster truck averages a surface speed of about 278 kph with cruise left on. With some boost it can climb up to the upper 300’s and even touch 419 kph for brief moments. But the squeaky tires do start heating up at that point and I don’t want to be caught way out here with a flat!

We all should be aware that Nova_1 has been here many times and has come from many different directions. And out of great respect, I recently purchased a solid gold Nova_1 hoverboat. I decided to take out the boat and (to see if There had snuck in any weird new islands or anything), and surprise- the boat popped out upside down!!

I got to thinking, and perhaps the hoverboat still is right side up,  to the Main Islands anyway! It’s me! I’m upside down!! I’m on the Opposite Side of  There!! Weird…huh?

(Well, no actually I flipped it over by accident when I took it out, cause my truck ran over it …*shameful admission *  * blush *)

For Real Though…

Here’s how to tell when you’re on the other side by the GPS; the cross hairs cannot be inside the Main Islands circle, with out the map view changing. When you travel on the opposite side of There, the crosshairs will move to the left when you are traveling east.

Well, look for me coming around from the west in week or so. And no, I’m not just sitting here and going non-stop, although I haven’t seen one single restroom out here since I began this trip …’hmm
