SNOWED ON at Doggie Derby!

Saturday’s racing event started off with a BANG! As we headed into our 5th stake race of this series, newcomer Snoangel dusted the turf with her pup Jay. A sight to behold when this little doggie strutted to his post and waited on his owner’s command. Sleek and sure, Snoangel’s confidence in her cute little canine proved to be on the money when her dog took the BEST out of 7 races in the set. CONGRATS Snoangel and Jay! They now continue on to Derby Day as one of the BEST 7 contenders in this series and race against other previous stake winners for the cup.

Although the set was taken by Jay, it wasn’t as easy as it seemed. Montegro and SeductivePoison  put   their best paws forward and gave Snoangel’s  pup a run for her money. Montegro winning Races 4 and 6 brought him and his pup Holly, 1000 in tbux for the night. With a gleaming new collar, Jay paraded past spectators and drew awestricken gazes from the crowd. As he entered his post, owner Snoangel gave him his final pep talk and a few encouraging puppy pats. Foolish_girrl3, new to Doggie Derby, was amazed at the way the pups were so well trained and heeded to their owner’s commands. She, along with Demanda decided to just watch these races as we plunged into then next one. Cheers and encouragement from the crowd to their favorite pup were certainly pumping up the competition throughout the event. WELL DONE contenders! The night ended with payouts to all the participants of well over 5k in tbuxs. A short meeting followed this stake race to receive input from the racers on improvements to either the track or racing event as usual. It’s YOUR event and all suggestions and comments are welcome from the members.

Once again, thanks to Howland and all who participate for making Doggie Derby one of the fun things we do in There. See ya next Saturday!
