THE VOICE SPOTLIGHT Shine on Applebees

This week I shine the Voice Spotlight on Applebees.  Well known fashion designer for both men and women of There.  Applebees has made her mark as one of the designers to look for the latest fashions in There.

When did you join There?

My avie was born in Paiz Island on December 17th 2005.  I joined There because one of my friends used to play it a few years ago, so we decided to give it a try.  The game was great and the people were so friendly.  I played other online games but nothing similar to There, it was very realistic, fresh and different.

What are your three favorite designs that you've created?

1.- Untitled Vests – they come in Black, Green and Pink colors, other colors will be available soon.

2.- Polo Shirts for Men – various colors and styles available.

3.- Slack Jeans – different styles and colors, they go well with my Kools sneakers.

What was your inspiration to start designing, and what are your future plans?

I've been a shopaholic since I can remember, but sometimes the clothes that I wanted weren't in auctions.  I also like drawing and always been interested in doing challenging things.  One of the things that kept me from designing was that I didn't have the tools to do it, I finally got Photoshop a few months ago and decided to give it a try.  My first design was as success! (Kools sneakers) That was a big encouragement and continued with my There dream.  I get inspired by everyday clothes and all my designs represent me, I create items that are my style/taste and love sharing it with everybody.  That's the beauty of designing your own stuff.

Do you have any dreams and goals for your avie in her future in There? What are they?

I'd love to learn how to use gmax and keep improving on my designing skills.  You learn something everyday, right ? LOL.  I like what I'm doing right now and  pretty much would like to keep it that way.

What would you do if you could switch places with your avie for a day? What do you think she would do?

First of all, I would go to the 21st Floor and skydive from there on my Hoverboard, then I'd head to Avie Sacrifices and fall from the deck! That would be awesome, not to get a scratch while you laugh all the way down the hill.  I will totally abuse the teleport feature - I'd visit every friend, every place that I could in minutes! As for my avie, she would probably wake up in the morning to feed a couple of princesses, get them ready for the day, cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, clean up the house and design in her spare time! LOL

What would you like to see in There that has not been created?

I would really like to see more options in StyleMaker for the gents, fitted tops and bottoms.  More variety of hairstyles for the ladies - the ones we have right now are great and we have too many,  but I'd like to see something with more texture, like The Scott, The Petter and The Marley for men - maybe some baggy clothes and hats for women.  Some furniture that I've been looking for some time now, but that I will try to make it myself if I learn how to use gmax.

Is there anyone you would like to thank for something they have done for you in There? What was it, and why was it done

Of course, I'd like to thank a few of my closest friends. J4ck3d for being such a great person and the bests of friends, all of this couldn't have started without you.  Nelia rocks!, patient when I started learning how to use Photoshop, she taught me almost everything I know and let me used her templates for my own designs.  Barbie_Doll TSCPGITW, my moldel no. 1 and one of the funniest people you will find in game.  There wouldn't be fun at all without you guys.  Thanks to them and everybody else that has been supportive through all these months.  I really appreciate your compliments, comments and suggestions when I see you in game.

What would you like to say to other designers that might help them?

Don't get discouraged if you try to design something and you don't like how it turns out.  "If you fall get yourself up and try again", remember that when we start doing something we have to start with baby steps.  There are great people in There that are willing to share some tips and help you with your questions.  My advice is to go to the Forums and ask there, you will get different opinions from our Top Designers.  Good luck!

 What was the most difficult thing about designing for you when you started? Why?

I got Photoshop in April but I didn't know anything about it, didn't even know how to draw a line or open a new document, but if you have the heart, ideas and support you will be able to do it.  It's amazing what you can create when you fiddle with the different tools your program offers. Like I mentioned before, you'll learn something everyday.
