 Hobos

 by Archie

I met a ragged man holding a paper bag, and wearing a shirt that said “Will Work 4 Beer”. He didn’t beg, or ask for anything. In fact, Temis5 is a totally cool person.

He joined “The Hobo Army”, Temis5 explains, after being inspired by it’s leader MashupAhoy. Not a giant club, or mega-corp, just a small collection of members who might show up somewhere and wear the club attire. You will want to give ‘em at least one Tbuck.

I did, and it felt like the right thing to do.

While chatting with Temis5, (at Zona Island, where he likes to hang out), various avie’s would run up and say hello, and (of course- rofl), ask for stuff like- “You got any spare clothes?” “Wanna buy this shirt?” etc…

This cracked me up, seeing the hobo holding a bag – and the hobo was not the one asking for “stuff”. What a fine example of the philosophy of giving. The principle works and I watched the living examples right before my eyes.

You might be asking, “…so what was the hobo giving?” My answer was he was giving us an image regarding human relations. This is no small thing. This is an important area of thought, in my opinion.

We talked about the story of “Lazurus” who kind of represented, symbolized the homeless and poor, but was very humble. In a “zen-like” way you want to help a poor person, because it just might be the right thing to do. Not because they were hounding you to buy one of their designs, or need some Tbucks, …or anything.

So, when you do come across this opportunity to give, even the smallest thing, you make a difference. That difference may not even effect the person you give it to as much as it will affect you for having given it. This whole idea is really interesting.

The Hobo Army is out there in There, doing it. Very Cool!

Best Travels to All!

And Special Thanks to Temis5.
