The State of There

by Softlydreaming

I love my hoverboat. Granted its big, and it's clumsy but it's a classic car and it flies. And as Michael Wilson says gas prices in There have remained the same since 2003. The beautiful and varied scenery of the islands of There fascinate me. It amazing to me that you can explore it just like the real world and I love traveling.

Officially I've been in There's on-line community for four months now, but I haven't passed casual on my Hoverboat skills and I'm not even a third of that. Actually when I'm in a hoverboat someone else is usually driving. So I'm not much of a captain, even though I want to be. So what has kept me so busy? These four months have been a whirlwind.

I've been a maid of honor at a There wedding, and I was voted queen at a summerball. Crazy as it was, I sang on Therien Idol and was a celebrity square on Therywood Squares. I got a bigger clubhouse for my Bff club is now over 350 members and has it's own website and neighborhood. I've made really great friends and I even fell in virtual love on line. With all that I've done in here I still feel I've only scratched the surface of the world of There. My recent knowledge that there are virtual malls alone has me wishing I had more time lol.

Why am I so reflective? The State of there Address and the Town Hall Meeting make me realize that There is growing and changing and that my There addiction may not ever end.

I went to my friend Jayyson's paz the other day and as I was admiring his amazing view off the northern side of Aurora from his deck (reminds me a lot of the coast of California in the USA), he pointed out two new islands that popped up during the last update. So (as Michael Wilson calls the real estate developer) Betty Bulldog is hard at work. The new terrain engine sounds amazing.

I thought a lot about the population of There since Michael Wilson mentioned the 50/50 ratio of male and females in There and the increasing young population. And it's true I have a lot of friends of both sexes in There and I've met a lot of young people lately. The young people actually talk to me about feeling safe in There and they enjoy hanging out with both young and older avatars. Mr. Wilson also talked about all the language development and I have to say I love having friends in There from countries all around the real world. In the State of there address the new card games were mentioned as directly being developed for older members and I have to say I love playing Gin in There. I like the whole two-player thing, it cuts down on the time that I wait for a fourth. Not that I'll give up on Spades, I love it. I don't have many friends that play hearts but I also like that game and my win in There Games endeared me to it. I play cards really late at night so I guess I have to thank all the people in the "cold cage" keeping the machines and 1000's of servers running so I can suffer from my lack of sleep the next day whenever I want to.

The new lights and welcome walkway are new interactive updates we are enjoying and exploring. I appreciate the preview and the fact that they want member feedback. Vash community is working hard with the Mab and other ways to understand what works and what members want. There was a huge turn-out at Vash's layer test the other day. I talked to Elaur and she bought the dress I was wearing which was thrilling because i designed it.  So maybe between the walkway and the funnel "mission from God" we will have a lot more new people to meet and get to know. According to the Town hall meeting this summer a lot more people have joined. And there are many new things to enjoy. One of my favorite things in there now of course is Hugs. And I love the Hugs for Tbux t-shirt out, so cute. Now that I'm designing the thought of mannequins sounds so intriguing.

There is so much in the world of There I have yet to explore (did you know there is a ufo in there?) and There is growing and changing. So the State of There seems pretty good so I think I'll hang around for a while.
