The Crazy 8 Haven: A Shelter for the Nomads

by freyja78

When I started going to There on a regular basis, I used to hang out a lot at my friends’ place in Neptune Island. I am so amazed at how they seem to spend most of their time just staying at their place. I can’t blame them though, it’s a nice hood and the neighbors are wonderful. It’s not surprising why I keep on going there too.

Seeing my friends looking very content in their place kept me thinking that I should get my own too, to know how it feels to have a place where you really belong. I am a bit apprehensive though because I don’t see the practicality of getting a home when you can only be there on weekends. It took a while before I finally decided to push through with it. I received an invitation from a Palms Spring Beach hood owner and I got a good feeling about it. Adding to that, a very good friend convinced me that it would be a very cool place to establish a home. Then, I suddenly remembered overhearing a few of my friends talking about buying a house and sharing the rent among them. It didn’t take long for me and another friend to convince them to join us. To cut it short, we got the house, the pool, the cards table and almost everything we require. And a name that best depicts the owners of the house; Crazy 8 Haven, a place for eight crazy people. I can’t describe my elation when I saw how things turned out. It was perfect. One of my housemates has been teasing me that I must really love the place coz every time he comes in; he doesn’t see me anywhere else. He was right on that count. There’s no place in There I like better than our haven.

Now I understand the importance of having your own place. It gets you to another level of enjoyment. It also marks you a place in the society. You can host your event without being bothered to look for a suitable place to hold it. You’ll have more opportunity to meet new people. People who were once like you, homeless and clueless. Most importantly, you will no longer be labeled as a nomad.
