This is my new column, and I want to take a
moment to outline what I plan to do in it. To start with, I'm
Matthewb1993, a long time player of There and also an active machinima
creator. In game I find myself constantly coming across others
people’s media work that simply out stands me. Unfortunately some of
this work never gets the appraisal it is worth.
I plan on picking out a few of the pieces of work that is published
into the community each week and giving you my opinion. This can be in
the form of short films of artwork. A brief overview and review will
accompany each piece of work. I am not going to talk about every
media item I find but ones which are intriguing.

With
Valentines day just passing by the internet is awash with videos from
this special day. One which caught my eye was "My Valentines" by
MoonPriestess. She has realized that recording the events taking place
would make a wonderful video. It features roughly edited footage of
her experience in There during this time. The music in the video fits
the mood perfectly. In my opinion the recording achieves its main
goal; to convey the sense of happiness. The only criticism I have with
the video is the sometimes excessive showing of the interface. However
this is a learning creator and her next pieces of work should be
great!
Running Away

Another
recently uploaded video which seems to have slipped through the net is
"Running Away" by Cmie17. This is a music video made in game and it is
simply amazing. This relatively new creator has shown some skills when
making this video. The scenes depict the lyrics of the music
perfectly. Another nice touch is the perfect lip syncing of his
avatars mouth to the music; making the viewing experience much nicer.
The transition between frames is also set to the correct mood. All
this makes me wonder why this video is not talked about more. A must
watch for music/video fans!
That wraps up this weeks article. If you would like your work to be
featured in this column please send a link and your name to
