This week I had the privilege of interviewing FEMMIE. There has many members young and old, it was great hearing from someone active in the community......

 

Softlydreaming: How long have you enjoyed There.com?

Femmie:  I have been a member of there.com since august 28th 2005.. 

Softlydreaming: How did you hear about it/find it?

Femmie:  I was a member of Second Life and was looking for a more social virtual world, so I did an internet search and tried there.com. I became premium the next day. 

Softlydreaming:What do you love about There?

Femmie: The people! Its the community that makes there.com what it is. I adore the interaction of people who normally would never have had the chance to meet. 

Softlydreaming: What are some of the things you like to do in There?

Femmie: Well my first love is spades, anyone who knows me knows I love my cards. I also really enjoy hosting almost anything. I have a talent / game show every Friday night at midnight eastern called the gong show that is the most fun I have all week. I really enjoy seeing all the things that the community is capable of. I also enjoy the idea that I can bring things in my head into world through design. Granted, im not the "talent" half of the avatar BFDesigns (that would be miss Buffy_Summers), but it's still my pride and joy. Well that and my hood, Finaqua. I have been lucky to discover real friends in There.com and found that as a group we can create a beautiful, fun experience that we can share with others. 

Softlydreaming: Tell us about your clubs.

Femmie:  Well I am the leader of many clubs in there, the most well known I would say is Nefarious Lair Spades. But I have several clubs for all card types.

There is also FemmieDs Fractious Funtracks, for those who like going to a fun, drama free track event thats challenging as well as different.

Thereian Gong Show is for those who have, or think they have, a talent to share with the world. We welcome everyone there.  Then there's the Finaqua Society which is for invites to all events hosted in, or having to do with members of the hood. From quests to paintball, cards to tracks, you want an invite, join this :)

And dont forget my new pride and joy, Gay Place on Ootay. I was just recently handed the reins to the largest GLBT club in there, founded in 2004, and although it was homeless for awhile, it has found a new home in Finaqua, and we welcome all into our family ;)

 

Softlydreaming: Tell us about your there life and Island Guiding.

Femmie: My there life is all about having fun and helping others do the same. From hosting events to give the community something to do, to holding new member events so I can see a new members excitement during their first day, its all about the fun there offers. As far as the Island Guide work, its not really work to me, I enjoy helping new members find their scene and customize their avies. I also enjoy the fact that I have become the safe haven for the new members of the gay community, through referrals of other island guides, greeters, MAB members, you name it. It makes me feel good to know that while I am here to help all the members of this great community, I can serve a specific function within such a great place. Softlydreaming: What would you tell someone who asked about there.com?

Femmie: That its a great place full of fun, interesting people, with SO much to do!
