GO WILD, GO WEST, GO WILD, WILD WEST!

October 3, 2004

Last weekend The Wild, Wild West was given a

preview of things to come with a magnificent series of kick off fashion events sponsored by QE4 premiering the awesome clothing designed by such There luminaries as (The Voice’s very own) Geea, Phedre, Mercuria, Dragonfly Designs’ husband and wife team: TOmmyStone and Sazzypants, Joshua_Tree, Dreamweaver and  Disky  Zone QE4 was gussied up all western. cactus and adobe for the four Fashion Events. The final guest count attests to the awesome possibilities that await us all when the The Wild, Wild West Mega Event finally begins for real in October. QE4 is beaming with pride (no pun intended). The record breaking numbers in attendance exceeded an astounding 230 Thereians, all hankering to spin their spurs and GO West!

Okay, okay, stop spinning your spurs and pay attention here, ya hear me? The Wild, Wild West will premiere on October 22 and run for the following two weeks ending on November 5. It promises to be the most ambitious undertaking that private Thereians have come together to create since…well, Nada knows when! The scope of this Mega Event  is so colossal that no less than three prominent There organizations, QE4, TGC and EEP, have taken up the gauntlet to make certain all Thereians will want to GO WEST!

Okay, let’s get back to fashion and the fun of the moment. BrianKinney and Zonebrat, the fashion directors of QE4, are to be applauded non-stop for putting together such an amazing fashion event. QE4 is known for its monthly fashion shows usually highlighting no more than three of There’s best. Well, Zonie and Brian had their hands full this time out. Zonie even took control of the mic for the very first time and guided the evening as our official Emcee with fun and informed fashion reporting.

We had seven designers to feature and more than 60 fantastic Wild, Wild West inspired ensembles to model for our eager audiences. We had gunslingers and lawmen and saloon girls and proper ladies and Native Americans and the US Army! The imagination that our designers showed that night with their newest themed creations was beyond belief. Kudos to The Magnificent Seven (okay, so it might be eight but I am counting Dragonfly Designs as one)!

Oh and please let us not forget our dedicated group of hot pistol packing models: Dalton_Chase. xThor, DEET, MRFIXIT, KatieJo, OxygenBe, AustinTodd, Phoenix_II, tollermike, Sharlee, SAVORY and Kitteee (who gave up the mic this time out so she could parade the runway in her petticoats and spurs). They are a wonderful group of dedicated Thereians making themselves tirelessly available to perform during each of the four scheduled shows.

Oh, oh, oh don’t let forget to give glowing, honorary mention to the one night  (okay three nights) only TOmmyStone Dancers who provided a great half time entertainment at each show. Tommyis actually part of The fabulous Screw Ups who loaned him to us for this extended engagement. Oh, did I fail to mention that I was one of the trio of TOmmyStone Dancers? Talk about a screw up!

One of the most exciting aspects of the fashion show for me was the staggering amount of incredibly wearable men’s designs, not to mention Phedre’s awesome new Stetson. Sure guys, you might want to dress up as cowboys (and Halloween is just around the bend) but, trust me, most of the designs will have a life of their own long after the paint from the Gunfight at the Ootay Corral has dried.

Last week I wrote hoping that The Wild, Wild West just might be the shot in the arm our lagging There economy has needed for so long. I am happy to tell you this week that our recession may, at last, be receding. Sales for the official Wild, Wild West clothing and available paraphernalia have been far more than brisk. One designer told me that the submission costs for all her designs (always a very expensive proposition) were recouped almost immediately with the sales from just one of the many items she released for auction.

Now just wait till you see the transportation and builder items that are a-coming your way. Trust me (and ya better ‘cause I have a six shooter) you ain’t seen nothing yet! You just won’t believe you eyes! Ms J1K herself, Jinx_tv is working with some of the most incredible There talent to create a genuine old west town for us. Okay, mum’s the word on that (at least for now).

I can tell you this much, not all of the fashions created for The Wild, Wild West were in world in time to be part of the previous weekend’s shows. QE4 is so excited with the phenomenal success of this series of events that we have planned a new one, yes, a MEGA Wild, Wild West Fashion Event with EEP and TGC that will take place Friday night October 8, starting at 9 PM EDT in Zone QE4. We plan to feature the creations of all our amazing designers in a marathon fashion event and that will include all the new clothes that were not available for us to show you during last week’s shows. There might also be a few other surprises. One can never tell!

So get your Stetsons and western togs on and head on over to Zone QE4 for a great night of fashion and fun again. Watch for the great half time entertainment to be supplied by none other than the (we hope, the ever on loan) TOmmyStone Dancers.

Invitations will be sent out later this week. If you don't have one and would like to attend contact any member of Queer Eye for the There Guy.

What kind of fun and magic can you expect from The Wild, Wild West? Well, how’s this for a more than wish list to tempt you?

On October 15 at 10 PM EDT The Becca Boobenheim Museum of There Art will host a new exhibition dedicated to the official art of TWWW. The paintings and posters commissioned for the event will also be on view in the Savory Gallery on Nacho Hill and The Queerzonia Art Museum in Nacho Bay. The exhibition will feature the art of tastycakes SAVORY and KatieJo as well as the wonderful portraits by RavenLynn all commissioned by TWWW.

Come October 22, the official opening ceremony will begin in Savory Gallery where there will be teleport links to magically transport us all back to The Wild, Wild West. Some of the events scheduled for the first weekend are the Cross Country Hula Gulch Land Rush, The Wild, Wild West Endurance Race at Dune Valley, the Shootout at the Ootay Corral and Avie’s Last Stand (two paintball shoot em ups ups that will play continuously in rotation).

TTA (There Talent Agency) will kick off the two weeks of non-stop entertainment with Hoedown Saturday, a day filled with all sorts of western inspired entertainment (Oh, don’t worry. TTA will follow that with Hoedown Monday, Hoedown Tuesday…okay, gotcha). Rumor has it that TTA is even writing an old fashioned melodrama just like the ones that played the saloons and opry houses way back then.

Even TABR is tossing in the Stetsons and hosting The TABR Land Rush during the two week long event

In the weeks that follow look for The Great Hula Gulch Getaway, the Qicksilver Shootout, The Old West Horse Derby, The Old West Cross Country Pony Express Race, the Gold Rush Quest and so, so, so much more. Many of the events will be repeated so that Thereians all over the world can partake in all of the fun and excitement. An official list is being prepped as I write this and when it is available I will give you the complete outlook of what to expect. I can tell you this much even Disneyland (sorry Kitteee) will have nothing on There during the two weeks of The Wild, Wild West!

Meret is becoming one of the exciting and, happily, prolific There designers. In the past few weeks he has given us a Tequilla Bar and then shot glasses, tropical trees and plants to surround his gorgeous Executive Red Brick Bungalow, the great multi colored skis hover bikes…oh, the list just goes on! Did I mention that Meret is also a sculptor of the first magnitude? In addition to There Big duck and little last week he introduced a miniature of a certain lady statue that we can now all have to love and admire in our homes! While the tall Statue (of Liberty, of course) is not for sale to the public we can have a souvenir of our visit to this, Meret’s most incredible creation.

Judan, who was responsible for changing how we look at PAZ and PAH with his magnificent Palladian inspired White Mansion, has just released the more affordable Red Brick Victorian version also available in two stories, Judan even has a Web Site tutorial to help us all learn how to build the mansion. (http://www.judandesign.com/mansion/) Honestly, I have built the original in several places and I am happy to inform you all that even a ten thumbed dodo like myself has been able to put it all together with remarkable ease and very little stress.

Yes, another week has come and gone and, yet again, without fail, there is another ZMW buggy to charm and delight us all. This time out ZachC has gone totally Warhol with his humorous and beautifully detailed homage to Sponge Bob with his new, very desirable and squeezable spongy bobby bug buggy. You all know the original very rare stratospherically expensive collector’s buggy by Kattwomann, well now you can own an affordable version that may just be the better of the two (okay, so I own both!). One little fact known fact? ZMW introduced two western themed buggies early last summer, The Painted Desert and the ZMW Wild West. The awesome detail of these two limited creations were the direct inspiration for the Mega Event that has become The Wild, Wild West.

On the fashion frontier Ciao Bella by Geea has added to her classic western look with a fabulous Rock & Roll Cowboy shirt. TOmmyStone and Dragonfly Designs keep coming up with must have western wear as a well. The three new red, white or blue cowboy shirts are must haves! Also, TO has just released some fabulous punk look clothing. Take one look at his Punkers Plaid Shorts and you’re a goner! The plaid shorts are available in yellow, blue, green and red.

Have you ever had a chance to visit Thalasso’s There Map on the Web (http://www.hjsv.com/games/there/
maps/maps.html#)? What a delightful surprise! This is where you go when you need a refresher There geography lesson. The site is chock full of up to date maps and pictures. There is marvelous search engine that can be used to teleport to all sorts of fun There places be they café, houses funzones, you name it. Well, done!

Okay, folks! Quiet time at the Ootay Corral!

MAY THE PAZ BE WITH YOU!
