Am I My Avie?

by Archie

The other day in the cafeteria at work, I was dreamily looking out the second story window, watching some people chatting down there in the parking lot. ...And I was There- if you know what I mean. Not in an eerie way, but in a familiar way that kind of had me wishing I was home online in There. How much am I affected by the comparison of the virtual to the actual worlds I cohabitate? When I’m focused in one, the comparison with other exists.

What’s the advantage?

In my opinion there are some deeply profound advantages to this type of understanding of self, others and situations. Having the experience of interacting in There provides a background experience of seeing outside one’s self, I think, in ways that battle game formats do not.

There is psychologically important.

We Thereians, whether we’re aware of it or not, are unique human beings, in that never before has a mental point-of-view like this existed. This perception of ourselves in an environment where we live autonomously, where we learn to move by our own intrinsic motivation and no other force has much power over us to make us do anything we don’t want to do. The depth of this kind of “freedom with-in limits” seems to be having strong effects on most other areas of my life.

How is it for you?

 ~peace~
