The Unconventional PAZ

by Archie

The avatar represents ourselves in THERE, however the collection of pixels as we choose it, does not require food shelter and clothing for survival. We wear the mask of these needs to seemingly reaffirm ourselves in Real Life, although we sometimes become free of constraints of the physical world and allow Virtual Reality to exist in its own right. Here now, the idea of building a PAZ (port-a-zone) that’s totally useless- if only for the sake of art and creativity, to throw the conventional out the window …and behold…-the “Unconventional PAZ”!

Odd Stacking.

This form of building is pure art. There is no other point to the “Odd Stack” other than creative fun. It is rare to see one, but you just might see one somewhere in a surprising spot.

Suggested guidelines for making an “Odd Stack”:

  1. Stack items one on top of another.
  2. Try for the most unrelated items as possible
  3. If it looks artistic, that’s a good thing!
  4. If it looks “funny” that’s a good thing, too! Why not?

THERE did a great job on the “Fallen Paz” and I wonder if after the 25th of January, (2005) we’ll see any more(?). This is an unconventional PAZ for the sake of humor, and although it isn’t easy for Therian avies to build something with tipped over pieces, we can still do some surprising feats with what we have.

“Deconstructivism”

The PAZ that gives itself over to being a sculpture and manages to become free of serving any other function, can be a challenge to obtain. It breaks our psychological rules of being “purposeful”. In Real Life it would be mighty rare to see someone build a pile of lumber, steel and concrete into a sculpture instead of a living space. But consider some of the giant sculpture you might see near a “performing arts center” or in the plaza of a classy office tower. Now imagine one these bold sculptures on some hillside or even plunked down in your suburban neighborhood! Wouldn’t that be novel? Ok, ok, maybe it wouldn’t be appropriate, lol, but in THERE you have a lot more freedom to exercise this brand of boldness.

So c’mon, give it a try!
