What is it about the Lyceum?

 by Archie

Paintball zone in beautiful surroundings turned portazone park? ‘hmmm… An interesting hilltop area known as the “Lyceum”, and the surrounding PAZ, this easily accessible area allows wandering visitors to freely pass through and check out this fascinating locale.

Taking a walk through this area, overlooking the sea, at the southwestern edge of the volcanic caldera (the large crater like basin west of Nene Mountain) on Caldera Island, is the hidden “Lyceum’ under a dark almost spooky, canopy of trees. Beneath the ancient Therian ruins of broken stone arches, is a hall that leads to a large atrium area where the ancient probably held meetings, or, ya think? …sacrifices? lol!

The area is populated with interesting PAZes and a kind of free form community that as well as the mystery of the place, bonds it’s members to the park-like atmosphere of the Lyceum area. Much like Hippy Beach, there is no formal “neighborhood” PAZ here. This area is held together by the shared, common interest of the completely voluntary community.

The variety of neighbors splash color, and interest into an otherwise mundane area zoned for paintball uses. There are places to meditate beside the Lyceum hall itself. The great Buddha, the Great Pickle, and terrific views abound. A “WOW Award” winner for community principles and cooperation, this area is all about fun. I hope you stop by soon and enjoy this very special part of There culture.

Special thanks to LASER for the most informative tour!
