Ancient Spirits of There

Archie Explores

These ancient sites and ruins didn’t just come from no-where, ya know…

Toppled pillars, unexplained remnants of some past civilization and clues of another world abound in There.  To this day, ancient spirits wander the plains and valleys of There, let’s take a look at what they left behind.

Tyr of course is about as haunted a place as can be found anywhere is all of There.  Not only did the ancient kings and queens dominate our peasant avie ancestors with an iron hand, they impelled the hardships of labor, of cutting the cliffside roads and dizzying bridges into the high mountainsides of that dark island, but also to toil and mine the shimmering crystals, and ultimately to build that cool, but horrible tower with its oppressive chambers in the center of Tyr.

I can envision the endless laborers working without end, never seeing sunlight, struggling under the weight of giant stones while the guards cracked whips around them.  When I visit Tyr, I can virtually re-live the horrendous sights and sounds of those giant beasts gouging out frightening masses of Tyrian rock and soil to eventually complete the maze of crude roads and high bridges.  You can still see their overwhelming skeletons half buried in the “bone yard” on the northeastern side of the island.  Can you imagine ground shaking as these animals went walking around on Tyr?  Can you imagine the smell? Yikes!  What kind of weird alien beings were running things over there?…makes ya wonder doesn’t it?

Not Only That –

In the seemingly milder areas of Caldera Island, there are also many great ruins and mysterious places. Yes, we tend to take all these for granted.  Of course they just seem like “old rocks”, someone carved in the days long since gone.  Or are they? You may do well to take a closer look.

Could one day a great civilization again rise up after some cataclysmic event, such as the discovery of an undersea civilization of the wild running of some mutant breed of fierce law student hunters, or even “crazed females” from some online village community suddenly hearing the great command broadcasted from a far and distant blue-green crystal mounted high up on a tower in Tyr.  Can you imagine?

Could one day we regain the lost ability to bow down to the mighty “old ones” and learn to pick up the sacred marshmallows constantly warming by the never-dying fires?  Well, it may seem unlikely at the moment, but we all know what truly is much stranger than fiction, don’t we?

In my humble opinion, I feel we may all do quite well to walk softly in our Therian world.  And - not to accidentally unleash some forbidden power which is lying dormant in a dusty and concealed passage in a strange ruin somewhere, or carved into a rare artifact by unknown ancient handiwork, which by fate, you just happened across one day, in There while you were just casually poking about.

The airplane crash site, at the gateway of the “Maidenflight” area, holds, I’m sure, a clue or two, which certainly will lead to further discoveries as to the real story of the “old ones”.  Those poor avies on that early flying craft surely glimpsed the fury ancient ones as they entered that sacred “no vehicle” zone.  How they did it - we may never know, although it is certain no one will ever fly so close to the sacred, and largest tree in all of There, ever again.  Attempting such foolishness will only lead to nightmarish problems, and potentially lead us, again, to that terrifying brink of civil upheaval, …or not.

Perhaps you are keeping some clues in your secret list of places or things.  Perhaps you’ve witnessed the power of the old ones’ magic in There.  Maybe it’s best you keep that little secret safe, …or just try to forget you ever found out anything at all.  Just maybe, we’ll all get to once again play on the sunny hillsides, and drive our buggies through the green valleys of There, without the cares or concerns of being caught by any wispy, floating "lag-banders" or towering boneyard re-incarnates looming on the horizon, …at least …for a while longer.

Safe Travels to You –

Archie
