Getting Down in There

 by Archie

On the first day of fall, my avie explorations are on going. This week; taking a cursory look at the deepest valleys, the darkest channels of Theria.

On the mainland, of course is Tabu, often overlooked by newer members, Tabu is the ideal Halloween gathering spot, but perhaps more sinister forces here give clues to another dark land.

A place where history has been shrouded by the ages and damp, dark everlasting night. Tyr is rife with mystery, and in my explorations I have a place that is very low and very wet. I call this place “Loki’s Deep”

I recently found the Monkey’s Head area flooded, I hadn’t considered it as being so deep however. Just shows that one has to be careful where one leaves a tipped over Monkey statue.

Egypt, from what they say of “human” legend, left behind these pyramids and tombs, the mysterious glyphs are like non-other found in all of Theria. I took a stroll down into the Egyptian tomb. The lights are faulty, and the walls are covered in messages that would take a lifetime to decipher. Down here is a sarcophagus that must have vandalized centuries ago, proving that this world of Theria is much more than 3 years old.

The Big Drain- straight west of Central Cangrejo, you will find one of the strangest features in this whole world. Was there once a race of giants that were simply using this place for their own experiments? I took a casual survey in the Official Forums, Buzz Dept. and here’s what I learned about the Big Drain;~

Archie: “What the heck is that Big Drain thing out in the ocean?”

ZATZai: It’s where all my money goes.

EnsignAndy: EnsignAndy believe's it too be a miniature black hole which hold's the "weird" physic's that our avie's react on.

Elaur: The pressure inside the planet was not remaining constant due to all the hot and cold designer items on the surface, so they had to put in a pressure relief valve. To stave off any panic they designed it too look like a regular There landmark. Although There would love to make the drain paintball enabled they can't since the paint could clog the valve. Believe me - I'm an engineer.

CherryBobbery: Well I had a quote you could quote me on but zatzai beat me to it lol So ditto on zatzai's quote cuz that fits me perfect as I spend more real cash in There than I do for my real life entertainment ... But then again There is like unreal real life entertainment lol

dakotaman: I believe, Archie, that it was put there to confound the curious There explorers (like yourself) :)

yinki: Nobody seems to have noticed or mentioned that the Giant Drain HASN'T GOT ANY HOLES in it. If you go up close, you will notice that the so-called holes are flat black segments.

So I am almost 100% certain that the planet is COMPLETELY filled with crude oil. And you can see the surface of the huge oil field brimmed to the bottom of the drain. When the time comes, I am sure drilling rigs will be making an appearance.

Since the buggies never seem to need gas, I guess oil just isn't that precious in There...however, if it was instead filled with crude OIL now *THAT'S* worth having.

ZachC: It's the naval of There

~

~other suggestions included the likes of being a path to SL, or where we flush all the bad avies, or even to keep the “CUTE” points from escaping middle There. I thank you all who commented, and still, there is no definite answer to “What the heck is it?”

Thanks, too for exploring the “low places” of There with me.

Hey… that puddle wasn’t there before was it?

I look forward to our next adventure. ‘wave

Archie
