Archie Explores Natural Race Courses Grab a few friends and pick a
landmark for the starting/finish line. Pick a Now days with the new “sweet” water, you can still certainly do island loop races in about the same way. If you can get some spectators to hang out while the racers return around the island, your landmark will be taken care of. Perhaps you might have a ‘two team scoreboard” sign to drop in world for a while, or a Paz, or something to serve as a demarcation point. So, line up your racers, and
open a group IM to give a signal, or even time yourself on laps, if
you’re alone. In-world racing does place some trust and Tyr is an excellent island to go speeding around. It really only takes a couple minutes to get around the whole place in a buggy. The loops around Ootay, Egypt and Caldera are also fun and easy racecourses. Motu Motu is another story. It has a very convoluted shoreline and is getting to be quite large for a race, although it would be fun. I would definitely recommend plotting the course on any of the larger islands (New Kansas, Comet) before expecting a successful event to take place. ‘hmmm Samsyn’s Frosty Island, aka
“Snowma Now, on-land racecourses are very challenging. Sometimes the bumpiness of using buggies can give the driver a headache. You might consider a bike or board race. It’s a lot smoother. Natural Race Tracks The top the volcano, NeNe is an exciting small natural track- which is still pretty good with buggies. You might make it a multi-lap race to have it last a little longer. Plus it has the challenge of falling the side and having to scramble to get back on. You might try it with force fields turned off. Yikes!
The large lower “caldera” crater is mighty bumpy for a buggy race, and there are places where you will get squeezed off the top edge of the caldera. It is quite big for a race, and has interruptions at the entrances of the crater where the canyons cut through the crater rim. I would recommend a bike race here. It’s plenty fast with lots of trees and rocks whizzing past, but reduced in the disconcerting bumpiness that buggies would have to endure. Let me know if you have raced any of these places or have some suggestion for other natural racecourses in There. The biggest reward is in having fun!
On your mark, get set, GO!
