There’s PG 13 Playground

Freedom within limitation.

That’s a good thing. “PG 13” is good thing. It allows for an almost endless variety of activity and creative expression.

How bad off are you, anyways? LOL!

We all know there are plenty of much more “edgy” internet venues. In There, the “edginess” is in your creativity, and this fact truly rocks!

I know that some folks want a place to turn the smaller kids loose in a safe online environment, and as safe as There is, I would be one to advise that very few online worlds can really be all that. Perhaps some, in the lines of Neo-Pets would be workable and allow a safe format and place for younger kids to gain some computer skills, while also making as “safe contact” (such a thing?) with new online “friends”.

That being said-

On the other hand, there are many, many adult sites that go from “pleasant” and continue through a full spectrum all the way down to the gritty cyber streets of the world. I am very glad that There has found a place in the virtual universe where members can enjoy the real fun and gratifications of our sincere creative efforts.

There is a bit more unique.

We are in between the extremes of the parallels of “movie ratings” which works just fine, as most everyone knows what this means. And, just because we’re in between, does not bode a frustrating compromise- no, not in the least! This is a gift of understanding that a place exists where, while physical beauty may be enjoyed, the focus of attention allows for an (at least) equal inclusion of real human personality and creativity. Amazingly, were given a flow and ease in which our personal foibles may be mostly filtered out. And, perhaps by design,

we may share our personal feelings and sensitivities only by our own conscious choices. We are certainly welcome to share feelings of all ranges with those by whom we deem as appropriate, and yet the power to support each other seems to be enhanced by the brilliant format of There

It is not easy to know how much of this was foreseen by There’s original creators, although decisions (obviously) were made in There’s early days as to how this might work best. For instance, making certain animated details too clear could have a disturbing effect on personal awareness in issues of our appearance. Things like wrinkles on skin, details of face or hands, besides adding huge quantities of data, it would cause action/play to be burdened with excessive levels of self-“awareness”.

Yes, some levels of “making oneself” definitely do exist, similar to real life, but it has fair and equal limitations in There. It is fun to choose body shape, color, facial preferences, shop for clothes, and furnishings. In fact at the levels given in There, these factors present a (imo) a psychological fulcrum in which to gage preferences in real life, and I for one find it fascinating and often very helpful, even surprising in ways of identity and self-discovery.

LOL- wow, I bet that makes me sound like I only come out into “Real Life” for a rare bathroom break, or a sandwich!  ‘Doh! …I wish! In reality, I don’t get to “play” in this endless wonderland anywhere near enough! Real life has me swept up in many areas and keeps me plenty busy, as I’m sure it does for most of you.  But even when I’m furthest away from my adventures in There, more than ever, after being a member now, for over 3 years, I still find my experiences and memories of interactions and creative involvements, right “there” with me. My friends who I don’t get to be with enough, and the mental list of things I wish I had time to do, are as important in There as in any other ‘dimension’.

Within the “limits” of the platform of There, is the guidance, which allows for a very special kind of freedom. The brilliance is, There’s brand of “freedom” is the kind freedom that is meaningful to friendship and creative accomplishment, the kind that allows for natural recognition, feedback from other members who are also sharing in the self-motivated experience. We are free to make this world what we want (with only the slightest limitations, really), and the vast majority, actually do happily work to create very cool stuff (of ones own choosing), and what is better than that?

 …is it this?

Therians seem to have a knack for bringing this positive spirit to the Real World, and THAT - WAY - ROCKS!

Happy Travels,

Archie
