Weather Fleeting “TST” - There Standard Time A “New York minute”? Dog Years?
Tempus Fugit? How does time A few years back, having spent some time playing a video game called Harvest Moon, a seemingly “slow” game became a serious battle against time. An entire day would zip by in a few minutes. You had to complete all your chores each day and try to get ahead so your “farm” would prosper. In contrast, There has no change of day of night. Cangrejo will always have its twilight places, and Tyr holds forever-night in its midst. The illusion of a “slow game” can be deceptive. But the thing is, regardless of
light and season, time does seem to I can’t say I’m aware of the “time pressure” with every second I spend in There. Sometimes I can just cruise around on a buggy or whatever for what seems like an eternity, until sleepiness urges me to log out for the night. More often though, I become engaged in activities like socializing, PAZ building, or racing, and my moments of escapism become completely enjoyable, but extremely fleeting. So what is the true age of an
avie? Someone in the There Official Forums once said, “avie years are the same as ‘dog years’”. And y’know? …that seems about right to me. I can’t give any hard math to prove it or anything, but wouldn’t it be possible that our true Therian age lay somewhere between our hours spent in world, the level of Fun-Pass we have, the depth of our experience in There, and I suppose too, the date of when one first joined There. Yeah, that’s kind of intangible -I know, but hey - you’re as young as you feel right? –uh-oh…gotta run! See you in There! Archie |
