Winter Scenes 2006

 Archie Explores

Well, it’s that time of year again, and we always make that familiar remark “Wow, how incredibly fast the year flew by!” And each winter in There the cottages and winter scenes become more charming than ever. I couldn’t resist doing some island hopping to see what I could see.

Perhaps you’ll see your special spot in this photo journal. I started finding quaint and picturesque scenes in our local islands, and eventually worked my way out to “Snowman Island” and then to the big snowy mountain on Comet. These places are not hard to find, and I’m sure these porta-zone (PAZ) owners will most likely have a hot cup o’ cocoa ready for you when you stop by.

Oh, and I did see ol’ St. Nick and he does know who’s been naughty and who’s been nice. He has one serious sack of goodies, too. In fact, he asked me if I could stash a few packages in my Holiday Hideaway igloo (up on Frosty Mountain) until he needed to deliver them.

I said, “Of course, my dear Saint Nick,” said I,  “it would be my utmost pleasure!”

“As long as you don’t get too greedy and peek inside ‘em, then you’ll end up on the “not-so-nice” list, Archie.”  said Santa with a raised eyebrow.

“Umm…I promise, really I do” I insisted.

He gave me a penetrating look, and then smiled a big Santa Claus smile –

“Okay, Archie, you may have one present – BUT JUST ONE!!”

Then he burst forth with a laugh in his singular St. Nick style, but quickly reminded me, “I’m serious about the ‘just one’ thing” he said with a wink.

“Santa,” I said, “I promise, cross my heart… but which one?”

“Well Archie, the one right there, the one with your name on it, of course.” he was pointing right at it.

I looked and I couldn’t believe my eyes, there was one that already said “Archie” right on the tag!

So he loaded me up with a special bundle and dropped me off at my igloo where all these goodies are stashed at this very moment. Please keep this ‘our little secret’, k?

“…And Santa, thanks for the present!” I said it loud so he could hear me over the noise and jingling reindeer. And then, - off he flew away on his big red Santa sleigh as he called out with his jolly laugh, “Merry Christmas to You!”

Best of Holidays to One and All!
