Zones of course, fulfill a technical purpose, and I for one, would probably not be who you would ask what that purpose is. But you know what? Gigantic line structures and colored patches of land are beautiful, amazing, and really fun to fly around and see! I remember “Snow Patch”, you would download the data and install it, then you could make all of There’s lands look like a snow covered world. –note, I haven’t heard about, or tried it in a long, long time…is it still around? I don’t know…anyway- seeing “zones” and “trend sec” is pretty interesting. On my Bedican Compass, there are settings that to me, don’t necessarily give needed information, but as I “try and see” it turns out that there is some really cool ways to see our Therian planet. Clicking on “trend sec” gives areas of land, which I believe are supported by various servers, and the green and blue boundary lines you get by clicking “zones”, I think these are to delineate boundaries and borders of places from the ground, and far up into the sky in some cases. For me the fun is in the visual effect, although these have come in handy near no-fly zones. Here are some pictures I found using the zones and trend-sec settings.
