Let’s start this week off by mentioning the charity drive for The UN Refugee Agency. This year There is collecting contributions through December 18th. Several designers including Francis_7, Orielle, Antaios, and myself have created a few items that There_Gifts submitted. There are also colorful “USA for UNHCR” shirts available. Any purchases of these items generate tbux for the charity drive.

This is a column about transportation items and things related to them so I’m just going to mention the ZMW Holiday Magic Buggy. The 2009 Holiday Magic is the seventh in this series. The first was introduced in December 2003 and there’s been one every year since. I’m happy that this year the buggy is being used for a good cause. This year it’s selling for 27,000t and will be available through Friday, December 18th.

This next item isn’t a transportation item, but it’s something people who need to display buggies have been craving for years; a rotating buggy display! The CS: Rotating Buggy Display sells for 5,995t. I set one up behind my showroom in San Dimas and it works great. I’m sort of challenged when it comes to building. Carcus says I have trouble putting out a one drop house, but even I was able to get this set up and get the buggy rotating. If I could buy one without the glass walls and ceiling I could have one INSIDE my showrooms. (Yes, that was a hint.) Kudos to Critical_Eye for this awesome creation.

You may have noticed the buggy in the rotating display. That’s the 2009 Winter Wonderland from ZMW. It sells for 18,850t and will be limited to sales this winter. There have been a couple of Winter Wonderland buggies in the past, but I don’t do them every year like the Holiday Magic.

Another designer doing a winter buggy this season is Rob3000 with his RAKA: Winter RnG. This buggy, as usual for Rob, shows excellent use of the painters’ tools. It’s shiny, the scoops and intakes look great, the dash is excellent, and the price is right. He’s got this one limited to sales through the month of December and it’s priced at only 12,500t.

Another inexpensive buggy is the ZR: Streetfyre from MikeTazer. In terms of quality for the money it’s hard to beat this one. The price is 9,850t which is only 1,000t; or less than 50 cents. You seldom find buggies of this quality at that price. If you like yellow buggies check this one out.

Nex3d has been at it again. The Desert Fox Limited Edition is his first limited edition based on the Apache. The detail is awesome. It was a pleasure to see. The limited edition Apaches will have only 20 available. Each is submitted separately so they have their own number. The one I was looking at is number 16 which is being auctioned by GuideOMatic for There’s 2009 charity drive.

I was very pleased this week not to encounter any texture theft. If you read Geea’s article on this issue I want you all to know I agree with her 100%. I consider these people the scum of There. They’re too lazy or stupid (probably both) to learn how to do their own work so they steal from those who have struggled to learn how to use the tools. You won’t see good designers stooping to this level, and in fact, most designers work together to help each other with this problem. So count on it… if you steal our textures, sooner or later you will be caught.
