Last Thursday evening I spent a couple of hours hanging out with Scion designers and others interested in these vehicles. With the advent of Scion racing these cars are fast becoming even more popular than they have ever been, which means VERY popular!

 

The event, “Scions in the Park”, was held in Jackson Square at There Orleans. Officially 152 people attended including Makena Technologies’ CEO, Michael Wilson. There would have been more, but the area was having capacity issues that actually caused problems for a neighboring hood. I myself had some difficulty getting to the show. I couldn’t even teleport to the ZMW Showroom; I finally teleported to Astrology Island and drove over to There Orleans. When I tried to summon a few friends I got the message that there were already too many people there to summon any more.

 

The show was put on by the Scion_Crusin_Show_And_Shine_Club and their group leader BankerGuy. You know it’s crowded when the person hosting also has to drive in from Astrology Island to get to his own event!

 

This group is very new; it was founded on March 8, 2008, but in that short time has grown to 252 members with more being added all the time. It’s one of the most active groups in There. If you’re into Scions (and it seems almost everyone is) this would be a fun group to join. You can apply here:
