When the Scions first came out it was easy to throw one together and make some money. Everyone wanted them and there were very few available. That’s changed now; with so many listed it’s hard to keep track of them all. Most are simply recolors of the original template. Some attempt to make the template look different, but fall flat because all the designer knows how to do is copy and paste. Then there are the exceptions. I love those exceptions! I reviewed a Beulvary Scion by Santasantita awhile ago. Her Scions are very creative and extremely well done interpretations of the template. Now Mullachops has raised the ante with his new M:Core:Panther:Scion:tc in an intense shade of pink, and the M:Core:Sabre:Scion:tc in deep dark blue. His use of the tools to create the scoops and louvers on these Scions is masterful. The designs are futuristic and invoke the feeling of high performance. Priced at 19,599t, these cars are among the best Scions I’ve seen so far.

Another interesting Scion is the one of a kind Scion Zebra TC 3 by Tex_d_Jokerman. It’s a takeoff on the car from Starsky and Hutch. It was in open auction at the time of this writing and there were 4 bids. The price was at 30,500t. Too bad it’s limited to one. I think this one might have been successful as a general release or at least a less restricted number.

Buggies, where are the good new buggies? I have no idea. I keep looking and the best ones I’ve already reviewed. I know I haven’t submitted a new buggy in awhile myself. My excuse is that I’m learning how to create models, other than that I can’t figure it out. Of course the auctions are saturated with them, but most aren’t really what I call quality. I searched high and low for something new, and found the Golden Dragon Buggy by Arthemis. This is another limited edition but at least there’ll be ten of them. It’s priced at 30,000t and if you’re looking for a look that breaks out of the pack, this could be one to check out.

Finally with “Under the Big Top” starting on June7, I wanted to find something with a circus theme. This item isn’t new, but it’s such a great idea and so unique I couldn’t resist. The UniBoat – Big Top Black by Kattwomann is a hoverboat that looks like a unicycle. The driver sits on the seat, and the passengers ride on one anothers’ shoulders. It’s priced at 32,500t and also comes in red.

Next week I hope there’ll be a few more Circus related vehicles to bring you. I’d say “Bring on the clowns!” but they scare me, maybe balloons?
