by ZachC This column is mostly about buggies. Sometimes other vehicles get reviewed too. Seldom do I venture into the realm of fashion or structures. Fashion, because I haven’t got a clue. Structures because, well, just because! Recently There introduced developer created props. We’ve seen drinks, snowmen, snowwomen, giant teddy bears, even lollypops. So it was only a question of when Jinxed_Karma would bring out something interesting. Who’d have expected something buggy related though? Well he did, so I can show it to you here. The one he showed me last week is the JND NightStalker XE. It’s a deep, dark color that Jinxed is calling black. It looks more purplish to me, but of course, I AM color blind. The buggy alone is beautiful. When you climb in and “hold” the JND NightStalker Prop Kit v1 it becomes a different buggy unlike any other out there. He took the air affects parts from his HoverBuggy model and used them as a prop. As would be expected, they’re extremely well done and the result is gorgeous.
I should have known Jinxed being who he is; the air affects prop wouldn’t be enough. As he was driving, Neverenough got in the passenger seat and suddenly Jinxed was surfing on the back of the buggy! His head turned when you talked to him just like he was a real avi. It was ANOTHER prop! That one isn’t available and I have no insider information on when it will be. Honest, I really don’t!
The buggy/prop combos come in three flavors. Each is beautiful in its own right. The prop kit just adds even more to them. The Serenity is probably my favorite with our without the prop. Shown here is the Serenity in both configurations.
The Transcendence is the red one. My friend really liked the Transcendence, but he was broke. All he could afford was the prop kit. Here he is running around pretending to be a buggy!
Moving on, I found a beautiful new buggy by aj_1988. The AJ – GT 502 will be a onetime listing and is priced at 17,850t. This buggy demonstrates how a new designer can start strong and keep improving. I can hardly wait to see what he comes up with next!
Speaking of new designers I always enjoy finding buggies from someone who shows real promise. The L5D 2009 Kohbra by paulerbear fits that bill. His Kohbra is priced at a very reasonable 11,500t. This is his first buggy and it truly shows a lot of work at learning the tools. He’s working on another and I expect he’s going to get better and better.
