This week I have a few words of warning to the buggy collecting community. It seems that one or two people are taking buggies that are still being listed by the designer, and raising the price astronomically. A case in point is the first buggies I want to review. This designer has established quite a following in a short time, and his limited editions do bring some hefty prices after they’re sold out. There are even collectors who are beginning to specialize in his buggies. I’m speaking of course about lJordanl. His latest buggies, the Sportivo 06 series is currently still available. Jordan is using Mikal76 as his retailer at the moment, and Mikal is keeping one of each up the the auctions. As of this writing he still has some, although at the rate they’ve been selling that could change quickly. Mikal has them for sale fat 26,850 which is significantly less than the 100k the profiteers had them listed for.

I have to admit, I’ve been collecting a few of his buggies myself. I did the same back when Jinxed_Karma started designing, and I never regretted it.

Pictured here is the JVH Blue Sportivo 06, with the JVH Gold Sportivo 06 parked behind it. In my opinion, Jordan’s work just keeps getting better and I’m looking forward to more when he gets back from his holiday.

Next I found a couple of fun buggies. The idea behind these buggies is great! I laughed my head off! The Drama Queen buggy is a take off on Dairy Queen. The Drama King is a take off on Burger King. They’re priced at a reasonable 13,850 and for that price you get a lot of fun, and maybe you can talk the designer, ConspiracyIsland into a free order of fries!

Next up we have another bargain priced buggy. This one from an established designer whose work is as well known for quality as he is for integrity. Once again Kortt wows us with his Dragonblade Resek. I’m partial to it because it’s a silvery white. I like white, but it’s really hard to do well. Kortt shows he’s a master at it with this buggy. Priced at only 14,950 you can’t ask for better quality at a such a reasonable price, but you better grab one quick. This is an introductory price!

For those of you looking for REAL bargains, there’s the Retro Racers by Starley. Pictured here is the Pearl Blue with a pink one in the foreground. Priced at only 10,850, (2k over wholesale) these are good quality at an affordable price.

Finally I’m reviewing a buggy I never expected to. The designer seemed to have some early problems with borrowing parts from other designers. This latest work demonstrates that he probably didn’t need to. Vanderjos has done an excellent job on the seats, and the rear end is not only original, it’s very well done. The rims are sharp and clear and the tread lines up. I like the turn signals on the fenders, and the grill is nicely done too. Priced at 18,850 it may be a bit high for a new designer trying to break into the buggy market, but it is good quality, so who knows? My main complaint is that he describes it as a “Luxury Coupe Limited Edition” and then lists 500 of them. That’s probably optimistic, and not what I would call a limited edition.

I’m hoping to see some interesting designs coming up for the holidays. If they’re out there, we’ll bring them to you right here.
