by ZachC I hope everyone had a great holiday. Welcome to my first column of 2008. This year promises new excitement for Therians starting with the new SUVs. I’m looking forward to checking out and reviewing some in the near future. Now that the templates have been released and they’re submittable we should see even more creativity! For this week though we’ll stick to buggies, and that isn’t a bad thing. We’ve got some great designs to bring to your attention today starting with a new limited edition from Onus. The “OMC – ObsidianGT – Gilded” has got to be one of the best looking buggies in There. Onus has outdone himself with this one and it’ll be interesting to see what he does for an encore. The Obsidian is priced at 58,850 and is limited to 11 ever to be built; ten in auction and one for himself. Even if this is a bit out of your price range it’s well worth taking a look provided there are still any left. Some weeks I can search for hours and find maybe one or two really awesome buggies. This week it was the opposite. First there was the OMC, and then I saw the 2008 CMC Carbon by Nazerreth666. Don’t let his name fool you, he isn’t devilish at all. In fact he’s a pretty nice guy, and the buggy is truly a wonder from someone so young and relatively new. The Carbon fiber detail is probably the best attempt at this I’ve seen so far. It not only has the detail, it also has just enough reflection to look “real”. The shine on the rest of the buggy is breathtaking. Add all that to the well detailed interior (which includes a turn signal stalk!!!) and you have an awesome buggy. At the current price of 17,850t it’s not a bargain, it’s a steal! They just keep on coming today! If you play over in VMTV you have to have heard of Frill. She’s well known in There as well, but mostly for her clothing. She’s done buggies before but with the Twilight Blue 4 seat Buggy she’s outdone herself. This one has shine, detail, with a unique and well designed grill and hood. The color is deep, lustrous, and did I mention the shine? To top it all off, she’s priced it at 12,000t. At the risk of repeating myself, this is, once again, no bargain. It’s also a STEAL!
I was stunned as I searched the auctions and found 3 new buggies that were so great so quickly. Then I stumbled on the Charm GT by sharmilla. I couldn’t believe it was possible to find 4 in a row! The Charm GT is unique. Each of these buggies is. You can look at them and KNOW they were done by different, individual designers with their own vision. The Charm GTR joins the others in this. The colors are a beautiful blend and the detail is excellent. I love what she did with the “running board”. This one is priced at a bargain 17,500t and the only problem I have with it is that she made a mistake when she listed it. In the description it’s “Limited to 20”, but she’s listed 50. For a collector that would be a serious error. We’ve all done them, and I hope she corrects this quickly. Hopefully next week we’ll have a few SUVs to review. I’ve heard that a few have been submitted, so now it’s up to There.
