by ZachC Last week we illustrated the poor mapping on the Scion TC. This week I want to thank There staff and especially Michael Wilson for stepping up and delaying the release of the Scions until the problems with them are fixed. I think many of us are now anxiously waiting and hoping that these exciting new vehicles will soon be in world. For those who are disappointed that they’ve been delayed, all I can say is that I do believe the wait will be worth it. As for the SUVs, we’re still seeing many paint jobs in world. They still don’t work. That being the case, why are developers placing them in auction? Responsible developers don’t place broken items in auction. For myself, I believe in checking anything I do IN WORLD before selling it. I’ve found errors in the past and I have a folder full of items I won’t sell because there were unexpected problems with them. I can’t test the complete SUV paintjob because I can’t see the whole thing until it’s fixed, so for that reason alone, Myself and others who feel the same way don’t list them. We’ll wait until they’re fixed. How do other developers know for sure their paintjobs are what they expected without actually seeing them in world? Why are customers even buying them sight unseen? The try-it’s don’t even work for the SUV so the only way to see even part of them is to buy them! I sure wish I had the answers to those questions. More and more people are becoming disgruntled about this, and I blame the developers who just can’t wait to list no matter what. No matter what else is happening there are still plenty of buggies to check out. This week I had Percepti0n and BigD26 helping me and we found a few interesting designs. I want to thank BigD for letting us use his showroom at the Village Marketplace as the backdrop for most of the images shown here this week. First up is the SSW Ebony by Samsw28. This is a semi-gloss black paint job and it’s done beautifully. The interior shows a lot of thought and work, as do the rims and tread. Sam has outdone himself with this one and at only 14,000t it’s quite a good deal. The quality is far superior to many buggies priced much higher.
A nicely done silver buggy is the Spydeh by Zeva. I especially like the louvers on the rear fenders. They’re a nice touch and I haven’t seen them done this way before. The silver paint is very metallic looking and the overall quality is good. This buggy is priced at only 12,000t making it another that shows far superior attention to detail than most others including those priced significantly higher.
Next we have a couple that, while they aren’t new, they are worth bringing to your attention. The first is the Kiwimonk: Tsunami Forerunner. I think I reviewed the Tsunami two seat buggy awhile back. I do lose track but I’ve done so many columns that’s easy to do! Anyway this is the four seat version and it’s just as striking as the other. If you’re looking for a four seater this one is priced at only 16,995t and has the usual Kiwi_G flare.
The Holeshot (BLUE) by Toungesports is a beautiful, clean design. The attention to detail is evident throughout, and the rims are awesome. This one was submitted in May of last year and I have no idea how I missed it before. It’s priced at 20,850t and limited to 5 in world.
The last buggy I’m reviewing is the ZMW Mardi Gras. This buggy was obviously created to help celebrate Mardi Gras, and is currently on display at the ZMW Showroom in There Orleans. ZMW did one previous Mardi Gras buggy, but hasn’t done any since Hurricane Katrina. This buggy is done in the Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold and is priced at 38,850t. It’s limited to 25 ever to be built but probably won’t be listed again after this week whether the 25 are sold or not.
There’s another beta this week in There, and hopefully a new release that fixes the SUVs will soon follow. Once that happens and assuming the try-its are fixed we’ll see the best of them right here.
