As most of you know, There submissions were closed down for eight days through Thursday February 28th. This means we’ve had no new content since last Monday. Because of this I had intended to discuss the Buggy Design Workshop held on Sunday, January 2nd. Since I actually did find a few interesting items to review,  however, I’m only going to cover the workshop briefly.

The Buggy Design Workshop was a lot of fun for me this week. I was overwhelmed by the fact that several of the best known buggy designers in There showed up and were willing to discuss their techniques and offer insight to new developers. These are all people I’ve come to respect and admire over the years. Colin25 was there along with Onus, one of my own mentors from back in beta. Mullachops and BigD28, each an awesome buggy designer in his own right, rounded out this group of caring, experienced people. I’m sure our new designers appreciated hearing from all of them, I know I did.

There were a lot of questions, and the discussion went on through the whole hour. Originally we’d planned on talking about marketing, but rather than cut the questions and answers short it was decided to postpone that until next week. Our next workshop will once again be held at the Seattle Frontier Zone at 8:00am PST.

Moving on to some reviews, I do like to bring a collectable buggy into the column from time to time. This week I’d like to start with the Kiwimonk:Supermuggy. This buggy is part of KiwiG’s superhero series of buggies. There were four buggies in the series and they were available only during Super Hero week back in May of 2005. They’re all considered rare and from my limited research it appears that there were 16 of the Supermuggies sold at 18,995t. I remember when they first came out and I missed getting one. The buggy in auctions is currently listed at 400,000t but the seller, K_Rob, indicates that all serious trade offers will be considered.

Scion sales have been jumping since they came out last week and I’m sure we can expect to see more new ones now that submissions are open again. One of the last ones to be approved before they closed is the N3D Onyx TC by Nex3d. It arrived in world last Monday. This black Scion shows Nex’s experience with 3d modeling. I haven’t asked but I’d bet he “painted” it using 3ds. It’s shiny and the design is innovative. Priced at 24,000t it’s a bit high on average for Scions, but the quality is certainly there.

Another interesting Scion is the B.C.S. Cloud 10 dD by Grimmus. The graphics on this car turn it into a “canvas” for some great street art. Priced at 18,400t this is another to take a look at.

I don’t do bikes too often, but I had to bring this one to you. The Black Beer’d Hoverbike was created to resemble a Harley. The model was done by 1Book, the mapping was by Carcus, and I did the paint. It’s priced at an even 20,000t which I think is a good deal especially if you’re into this type of vehicle. It was submitted by Julia The Pirate, and I’m sure you can find quite a few of them over at Pirates’ Keep. Oh, and I promise I’ll be working on the next paint job for this model very soon!

Getting back to buggies, let’s take a look at the SSW Gallixy by samsw28. This buggy has a paintjob that transitions from bright red to dark blue. It’s done smoothly and the shine finishes it all off. Everything about this buggy shows that Sam is rapidly becoming a buggy designer to reckon with. The Gallixy is priced at only 15,850t which is a great price for a buggy of this quality.

With submissions open again I think we can expect to see a lot of new cars and buggies coming in world this week. I’ll be hunting through them as they come in and we’ll bring you the best in the next column.
