Monday evening there was a small post by TheChaz in forums entitled Response Requested: New Customizable Cars. It states: “The next two customizable cars are available for review here…” and it gives this link: http://thereinc.edgeboss.net/download/thereinc/beta/developer/vehicle_painter_beta.zip Of COURSE I had to check it out! I downloaded the new models along with the templates and default paintjobs. I loaded them into previewer and you can’t imagine my surprise to find a MUSTANG and a VIPER sitting there in my screen!!!
Here are the screen shots. These are the default paintjobs. The wheels and tires are a separate model much like the SUV, so you won’t see them in previewer as you check your paintjob. I can only say at this point that the templates look good. I’ll have more on them after I’ve had a chance to try them out. Keep in mind that the post also says they’re unfinished and subject to change. That means they ARE NOT SUBMITTABLE yet. If you try them please post your feedback in this thread:
For a few items that are currently available, I did my weekly check of the auctions. I found a new buggy by Mullachops. Many people ask what it takes to create a really good buggy. My response is always “It’s the details”, and very few designers can match Mullachops. His new M:Core:Sky:UnLtd is a good example. The hood is clean, the scoops are well done, sharp and crisp, the “grill” and lower intake have almost no pixilazation and fit the design perfectly. Every part of the buggy works together including the interior. The seats and dash are perfect. The instruments are sized correctly and the layout is beautiful. The seats… well what can I say? They’re excellent. This buggy is priced at 12,599t. That isn’t a misprint!!! It really IS priced at 12,599t. For a buggy of this quality at that price it’s nothing short of grand theft buggy! Grab ‘em while you can! The Scions seem to be all the rage lately. I know they don’t drive as fast as a buggy, but it’s refreshing to have something else to paint and drive that can be customized so nicely! Apparently I’m not alone in feeling that way as there sure a lot of them in auctions! Most are the tC but I found a couple xBs that came out very well. The first is by Jack_Lee called the Jlee – xB Fire. The color is a sort of copper, and it has a nice shine to it. The wheels set it off nicely and it’s priced at 18,500t which, considering the wholesale cost, is pretty good. Another xB that caught my eye is the ssw eclipse racer by samsw28. The graphics are clean and really make the colors pop. The dark wheels add to the overall design and were obviously selected for that reason. It’s priced at an even 18,000t and it too is a good price. Finally I was looking for buggies, Scions, or TUVs designed to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. ZMW created a new Irish buggy just in time. So far as I could find, it’s the only one to date. The Emerald Isle is priced at 18,850t, which is the same as for the other national themed buggies from ZMW.
