This weekend we’re staging the Scion Show at the Seattle Frontier Zone. Any designer is welcome to show their Scions. The easiest way to do that will be to arrive early, “give” the car to me, ZachC, and I’ll put it out. This way they don’t time out. I’ll return them at the end of the show. The alternative, and this is ok with me as well, is to arrive early and set out your cars. They will time out before the end of the show, but they should be out through most of it. Vehicles will be turned off when the show starts, so unless you arrive early I can’t promise late arrivals will be able to display they’re vehicles.

Because of the show this weekend, I decided to review only Scions for this column. I was tempted to do SUVs, but I think that by next week we should have a better selection of them now that the hoods have been repaired and they’ll be coming through submissions again. I’ll be taking a look at some of those in my next column. Maybe if there’s enough interest we can do an SUV show soon as well.

Designers who are doing Scions seem to be focusing mainly on the tC. This coupe is the sportiest of them all, but there’s still room for others. The B.C.S Project 28 Scion xD is an example of this. The xD, in my opinion, is actually the best of the Scions for providing a blank canvas to work with when it comes to interesting graphics. It may also be the most difficult to get the paint right. The Project 28 demonstrates how it can work when done well. The Rising Sun graphics and Kanji are beautifully done on this xD. This car just screams anime, and it’s priced at only 18,400t. Great job Grimmus!

ZMW took a different approach and used the xD model for a police SWAT vehicle. I don’t normally review ZMWs since I design them, but I wanted to make a point here. This car is available to anyone. There are no official police in There. As I note in the comments, use all police vehicles and uniforms responsibly. They aren’t official. Attempting to use them in an official capacity as a representative or employee of There is a violation of the TOS and can result in moderations and/or permanent removal of your account. If you like it, please have fun with it, but don’t get all “official”. The SWAT xD is solid black and priced at 23,400t.

Moving on to the tCs, let’s start with the Golden Racer Scion tC by Delightra. Delightra has done somewhere around 20 tCs as near as I can tell, and she has them down! The colors are great with good shine. The graphics are interesting, original, and well done. The Golden Racer is priced at 20,400t.

The Green Apple tC by Optimize also makes use of creative graphics. The green is rich and vibrant with great highlights. I hope it does well. It’s priced at 23,400t and in the comments Optimize states that it’s limited to 50 copies.

The last Scion today, and far from the least, is the ssw camario bumblebee by samsw28. I don’t normally like yellow cars, but the shine and the contrasting black on this one make it stand out in any crowd. Priced at 20,400t you owe it to yourself to check it out if you’re even thinking of buying a Scion!

That’s it for this week. I hope to see many of you at the show Saturday, March 29 at 6:00pm PDT. You can sign up for it here: http://webapps.prod.there.com/eventmgmt/eventmgmt?op=view&id=594645897
