I began research for my column this week looking for new buggies. After a quick look at the front pages, it became evident that Scions have taken over the market. I’m not sure how many of them are actually selling, but there are plenty of them available. One could almost say the market is saturated. On the other hand, new buggies are few and far between. Judging from my own experience and casual conversation with several other buggy designers, buggy sales are apparently pretty dismal in the current market.

One of the cool items I came across while prowling the auctions is the Nexus SC75 B by Nex3d. It’s a lustrous black with awesome scoops and louvers. It looks like it’s speeding even when it’s standing still. Priced at 28,850 it was first introduced back in August of 2007. I still love it.

Speaking of hoverboats, the Yoshiboat painting rights are currently in auction. There will be 5 sold, and I do hope to see some interesting interpretations for this model. If you’d like to check one out, you can go to the ZMW showroom at ThereOrleans to see one on display. The teleport link is: http://webapps.prod.there.com/funzone/funzone?op=view&id=555585353

I mentioned earlier that there are a lot of Scions available now. Most of them are the tC. It’s hard to paint a bad Scion tC, the model is very straightforward, and may be one of the best There has ever offered us. If the painter knows their tools, the results can be amazing. One of those painters is Santasantita. Since her first designs, which were already good, she’s progressed to awesome. The Beulvary is a perfect example. Rather than stick with the default template she’s embellished it beautifully. The side scoop on this car really shows that her knowledge and skills with the tools of the trade are fast making her one of the top designers in There. Not only is it original, it’s very well done. This Scion is priced at 21,400t and it’s worth every.

I did find a couple of buggies to review too. The DarkDemoN by BDZ struck me with its good use of scoops at the front end and the seats. The buggy is well done, and the detail is excellent including the windshield wipers. This one is limited to 10 copies and is priced at 43,850t.

Another striking buggy is the DMC Seight SE-08 by BigD26. I love red buggies, and this one isn’t just red, the detail is excellent as well. The seats are beautiful, and the shine is very well done. Priced at only 18,850t this one is a bargain. If you can pull yourself away from the Scions check it out!

Finally I found a great old collectable currently available in the auctions. Spyderbytez buggies are rare, and highly valued by collectors. The Benny the Buggy is one of the most desirable. Finding one in auction doesn’t happen very often. This one was originally listed back in 2003. These were even sought after back then. The one in auction is open for bids starting at 750,000t. I don’t comment on prices for collectables. It’s up to the individual to decide if the price is right for them.

That’s it for this week. I’ll be looking for some more interesting items to bring you next week.
