by ZachC I promised to try and find some buggies to review this week and I have. The first is by Optimize. It’s the first buggy from a collaborative effort by the folks at 03D. The paint on the 03D Pearl Ice came out very well, especially for a first buggy. It’s also white, which is one of my favorite colors for buggies, and very hard to make look right. It definitely has a mother of pearl look to it and shows a lot of time and effort went into its creation. The problem here is the other parts of the buggy. They did such a good job on the body that I just KNOW they could do a good dash and seats as well. I know it takes more time, but buggies sell based on the details. From what they did do, I would say this is a promising design team. Someday I expect to see them do some really awesome buggies with good dashes, seats, rims, everything. When that happens, provided they eventually stop listing this one, it could end up being worth a lot more than the 14,850t it’s listed for. Sort of like the first JND or ZMW is now. The ZMW was horrible, by the way, and never listed. Far, FAR worse than the Pearl Ice. I hope they take my comments here as constructive criticism because this buggy has just shown me more potential than I’ve seen from a new designer in quite awhile and I’d like to see more.
Next is another new buggy from a new designer. 3rd_eye has done a great job with the graphics on this one. I love the paint, and the grill is excellent, but I what’s with the huge “speakers” covering the rear deck and in the seats? I guess it’s a matter of personal preference. Other than that, 3rd_eye too is showing some great potential for future designs. This one is priced at 13,850t and would be a good buy if you could lose the oversize “speakers” on the rear deck and buried in the seats… unless of course you LIKE that look, then go for it!
Another cool white buggy is the Bee Sundays Cool. I thought it looked familiar when I first saw it, and from the description I guess it should. The basic body and dash were done by Mullachops, and adapted by Dalriada. It was then submitted by beethros. This one is priced at 16,850 and there are colors for each day of the week. I checked this one out because it’s white. The one problem with it is that although it’s called “Bee Sundays Cool”, it says “Monday” on the rear end. I hate when I make mistakes like that… and I have! Don’t ask me about the Berbie buggy! LOL
Finally I decided to review a re-release. The RL – Revolution by Nex3d shows off the talents of a designer who thinks outside the box. The entire buggy shows original thinking not to mention that it’s well done. The seats are incredible as are all the scoops and detail. Priced at 17,850t this is a buggy to take a look at. Nex3d is a successful designer in There and you can see by checking out his work as well that of others like Jinxed_Karma , BigD26, and Mullachops that they get it… you have to have the details right to create successful designs. That means if you’re new, you have to do some work. You need to create your own designs to be successful. Don’t take the shortcut of using free dashboards or front ends. If you do it’s very unlikely you’ll be selling enough of your buggies to even pay for submission. I realize the people that make free stuff available to new buggy designers mean well, but they aren’t doing you any favors. How many commercially successful buggies have you seen with the Majandi dash or the DWillis front end? Of course if all you want is a buggy for yourself and don’t care that someone else did the work, then go for it.
