This past weekend was the beginning of a week’s worth of Hot August Nights, and it was opened with a night of racing and cruising along the Aurora Highway. ThereHoods and Emma were kind enough to set the ambience by bringing a moon lit night to the highway. It really helped set the mood.

The first event was racing at Bogie’s Porta Fun Zone sponsored by Pirates’ Keep. They drew a big crowd and it just kept growing from that point on. After the race event was over people, gathered at the F7 Drive-in Restaurant created by Francis 7.  From there we soon headed north from the vicinity of Aura Gulch to the Miracle Pictures awesome new drive-in-theater where we met up with Francis. On the way we passed people headed the opposite direction.

There were so many avatars it appeared like we might crash the servers. Rubber banding was endemic, along with lag and the buildings taking forever to load. In spite of that, we all had a great time. Here are a few pictures from Saturday night.
