Motorama, coming up the weekend of April 4th and 5th will feature collectable buggies as well as new ones. With that in mind, I thought I’d check the auctions and see what collectables might currently be available. Here’s an example of what you might see at one of the collector displays. It’s a JVH John Deer 06 by ljordanl. It was limited to 15 copies back in 2006 and sold out in less than a week. Jordan hasn’t done a new buggy or been around in a long time but he was known for doing quality work. In my opinion, this is truly a collectable buggy.

The next buggy is by a relatively new designer. It shows promise, but as I keep saying, if you’re going to go to the trouble of creating a buggy, why use the same old free parts that far too many others keep using? This one uses the ubiquitous Majandi Dash. I’m really getting sick of seeing that dash. The next problem is that, being a new designer, you need exposure and visibility. Unless you’ve already become well known, making your profile private isn’t likely to win you any sales. In this case the buggy itself isn’t badly done. It’s black, it’s interesting, and if he (she? Who knows… private profiles are not very informative.) keeps working at learning the tools we could have a successful designer here.  It’s priced at a reasonable 12,500t.

Next is yet another buggy by an upcoming talent. The TinksToys Hot Pink Babe shows a lot of creativity. I really like the black highlights. The shine is good, and if it were to come out in other colors (which I’ve been assured it will) then I may have to buy one for my collection. Tinkbell and her partner have come a long way in a short time. This is just the latest example of her creativity and skill. It’s priced at 16,900t and if you like pink you really need to check it out.

Another designer whose work we’ve shown here before is x_DragonLady_x. Her DL-DragonFire.G caught my eye. Too bad I missed it last week; it’s certainly green enough to have been included in the Saint Patrick’s issue. This one is priced at 18,500t and shows off her unique style.

The last buggy for this week is the ZMW Tranzam Corazal. It’s a turquoise and silver buggy recalling the colors of the Caribbean. I came up with it right after I returned from Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. You can see the colors of the sea, or as close as I could get to them, on this buggy. It’s priced at 28,850t and will be limited to no more than 25 copies.

Next week I should have more details about the Motorama. I’m looking forward to this event and I hope all of you can be there at some point that weekend.
