When I was a little kid boxes were some of the BEST play things. On a rainy day you could use your imagination and turn a big old box into anything you wanted, from a fort to a race car, even a jet fighter. When you got tired, it was the perfect place to curl up and take a nap (unless your older brother found you!). Phlit brings back those times with his Cardboard Box Bike. It’s priced at only 8,000t in the auctions so if you can’t afford a more expensive bike, just grab this one and imagine it being whatever you want!
Speaking of more expensive, an RS (short for Rick Slick meaning awesome) bike is Sojka’s Raptor: Stealth v2. It’s currently listed at 26,000t. It’s limited to 10 and there are currently 2 available in her auctions. She also does the same model as the Raptor Unlimited. For only 9,500t you get the Sojka style at a fraction of the cost of the Stealth. An interesting new hoverboat is the Draco Green by Elite Empire. It too is a limited edition with only 10 ever to be built. It’s dated at 11/22/06 and there are currently 6 remaining in auction. Placing the date in the item description is very helpful to buyers, collectors, and resellers. This was an idea started by Grimm in the forums awhile ago. I try to remember to add that to my own items during submission. I looked at buggies too and found the Meangreen Machine by Nomad55. Nomad’s been gone for awhile and it’s good to see him back. This buggy is dated 11/21/06. Nomad uses the submission date in the description too and it’s appreciated. My personal experience is that green is a hard sell with buggies for some reason. This one is priced at 18,850 and demonstrates a new hood treatment and other upgrades over previous models. The other buggy I found is the stealth vortecs. It’s by Adam Hussein, which is probably not a good choice of avatar name for someone trying to sell in the Therian market. The buggy on the other hand shows some real originality. It has a unique hood treatment, excellent seats, and bevel and embossing in places I never thought to see it. All in all, it’s well done. Priced at 10,000 its low price is also appealing. For those of you who are interested in buggy designing, I’m going to start hosting weekly buggy “conversations” in the near future. The only group being invited will be the Buggy Designers Group. Members can bring along their buggies and present screen shots of upcoming projects they have posted online. The plan is to help one another get better at what we do through group interaction. If you’re interested the group page is here: http://webapps.prod.there.com/clubs/clubs?id=518509253&op=home
I’d also like to see the group forums used more extensively for hints, questions, suggestions, and feedback. Of course I also try to answer questions here, but with the group we may come up with more than one solution to a problem. The group is open to anyone, but it isn’t a place for teaching people how to use Photoshop or Paintshop. Those who need to learn those skills would do best by looking into online tutorials or take the classes offered by UOT.
