The holiday season is upon us, well actually, in some cases it seems to have been upon us since around Halloween, but that’s a whole other issue. This week I went out to find buggies that celebrate Christmas. Before I could do that though, I needed a suitable backdrop to use for the images. I want to thank Kevin25a at the Hurricane Bay community for setting up “Christmas in the Park”. It was the perfect location for this article. If you’d like to check it out, you can see it at: http://zones.prod.there.com/funzone/funzone?op=view&id=531170485

First a little history. The holiday buggy idea got its start back in beta days. One of the first was the Sweet Buggie by Spyderbytez. If you’re lucky enough to find one, they now command prices of well over 150,000t. There’s one currently in auction, but that’s not common. This first the of holiday buggies was first released WAY before Halloween. I guess Spyder was ahead of his time. It came into world on June 3, 2003 and was limited to 12. It initially sold for 69,995t. It’s done nothing but appreciate in value ever since.

Currently there are several interesting buggies available to celebrate the season. In no particular order, let’s get started with the Christmas Buggy by Mystdee. It sells for 13,990t, is not limited and the price is quite reasonable for a buggy of this quality.

Next we have feerrarie 2007 xmas F series by Ledzep. The graphics are crisp and the design well done with a nice bit of shine to the finish. It’s priced at 15,500t. The name could be a bit of a problem since this is Christmas 2006, not 2007, and there are some that will avoid it no matter what the year just because it uses xmas instead of Christmas. That’s too bad, because this is one of Ledzep’s better designs.

DracoToro is coming along nicely with this latest design, Santa’s Hotrod. Priced at 12,850t it celebrates DT Designs first Christmas in There. Congratulations Draco, and we hope you’ll have many more. The buggy is a deep red with a nice hint of shine. The graphics are sharp and clear, and the Christmas lights running along the fenders are well placed, crisp, and work very well with this buggy. Draco demonstrates that he’s really getting a handle on the buggy template with this model.

The Winter Wonderland by Jenee is our next buggy. Priced at 10,000t this is bargain basement price with a way cool buggy. It LOOKS icy, and the snow packed into the tread with the tire chains enhances the affect. While others celebrate Christmas, this buggy celebrates the holidays AND winter. A great buggy to go exploring Frosty in.

Once again this week we have a buggy by vanderjos. The Xmas Buggy just isn’t up to the same level as the last one we reviewed here, but it is a Christmas buggy. It isn’t bad. It just isn’t what I was hoping for when I saw his name. This one is limited to 25 copies, which may be optimistic. It sells for 18,850t. Once again the market for this buggy may be minimized by the use of the name Xmas instead of Christmas.

The final buggy in this selection is the 2006 ZMW Holiday Magic. This is ZMW’s fourth annual holiday buggy. It’s priced at 18,850t and is limited only by the season. Once it’s over, this buggy won’t be released again.

Finally, I wanted to give our readers a peak at something coming soon. It’s a hoverboat. The model created by Carcus with paint by ZMW. This will be Carcus’ 4th venture into vehicles, and I can only hope it won’t be his last. The Bel Aire Cloud Cruiser should be available on Wednesday 12/6/06 barring any unforseen problems.
