This past week I discovered two new buggies in auction. That wouldn’t be so unusual, but these are new buggies from none other than Jinxed Karma. The JND Phantom GT and the JND Silver Phantom GT. The auctions were due to expire before publication, so there isn’t much point in providing the auction numbers.

While this is great news to fans of JND, the best news is that Jinxed Karma himself is back. After major computer problems, including the loss of many of his files in a hard drive crash, he’s back. I had the chance to chat with him the other night. The first thing I asked was about these new buggies, and will there be more?

He told me that there are no plans for any buggies, and these two just happened while he was playing around. They’re currently listed at $29,000T but the price will go up 5k after Christmas. They’re both limited to 20. On the other hand, he did say that he’s addicted to painting buggies and can’t seem to stop. That’s a good thing for all Therians if you ask me.

While several of us came to the conclusion that these were his best buggies yet, Jinxed said that he’s very critical of his own work. He’s never satisfied. To me that sounds like a real artist.

Jinxed thinks he’s probably done close to 100 buggies. His first 20 were for friends, though, and were never listed in auctions. Those buggies were done using single layers. He got really good creating the base paint. Later when he discovered layers, it only helped him get even better. Now he’s a layer nut and uses them extensively.

Jinxed, for those of you who may not know this, has also worked in Gmax and created several interesting items. These include the JND Blue Monkey Hoverpack, auction number: 5124269 and priced at $14,450T; and the currently available JND Ascent XLS Hoverbuggy, auction number 5169078 priced at $19,950T.

Sadly, he told us that he lost all of his Gmax files when he lost his hard drive. He has done other boats, which are no longer available, and a few other items. His first was a dragon in a cage with moving eyes. It’s still available as are his animated butterflies.

During our conversation he told us that none of his designs would have been possible without the aid of one particular person: AMXScott. Honestly, someday I have to interview this guy. He’s helped so many people, not just new designers. Scott funded Jinxed and believed in him when no one else had even heard of him. I can only say that when I was a new designer, Scott was always there was there for me, and help me move ahead. I seriously doubt I would have been where I am today without him either.

It’s great to have Jinxed back with us. I’m looking forward to reviewing many more of his new creations as he works on bringing new, exciting buggies, and other transportation items into There.

Before I conclude this week’s column, I’d like to do a quick review of a new bike. A couple of weeks ago I published a column that featured the Banzai bikes from GrandMaster. At the end of that piece I said that maybe someday I would be allowed to paint one. That model should be a bike racer’s dream. It’s small, tight, and has almost no front end overhang. I loved it from the minute I first saw it. Now, GrandMaster has given me the opportunity to paint it. Our collaboration was released on Friday! Working with GrandMaster on this project has been a pleasure. He has to be one of the nicest people I’ve yet to meet in There.

The bike is called the Banzai Bikes - ZMW Black. The auction number as we prepared this article is 5176111 and it’s priced at a very reasonable $17.300T. If you like bike racing, you really should check it out.
